  • What is the name of this movie?

It's a recent film. The trailer shows a man and his daughter (maybe) living somewhere with lots of snow (like Alaska or something) in a hut (maybe). He's training her to be an assassin to kill a woman with red hair. Any ideas?

  • Explanation of flat numbering system in Edinburgh?

I am about to move to a new flat in Edinburgh, and the flat position within the building is denoted as '2F2', which I presume to mean "Flat 2 on the second floor".

However, I am trying to get broadband ordered, but when I look up the address using the postcode on the VirginMedia website, it only gives me choices of single flat numbers (1, 2, 3 etc up to 15). No one seems to be able to tell me which number corresponds to 2F2, and I was wondering if anyone might have some insight...

  • PS3 offline multiplayer games...?

Online multiplayer games are all well and good, but when you've got your mates round, it's a bit rubbish if you want to show off your PS3 but only one person can play while everyone else watches...

So I'm looking for some game recommendations here. I couldn't find any lists of offline multiplayer PS3 games, so I bow to the power of web 2.0 and ask you. List good games if you've played them, or indeed any other games that you know of. If you've got a link to a list, that would be awesome.

NB: I already have Guitar Hero and Resistance: Fall of man, and if you say something like 'get a Wii', then not only are you immature, but you also need to get some friends...

  • Interesting ways of cooking broccoli?

I'm looking for some new ways to cook broccoli. I really like it, but I'm getting a bit bored of just steaming it and eating it on the side. Any recipe suggestions are much appreciated, but bear in mind the following:

    1) I'm vegetarian

    2) I'm a student, so if it is complicated, takes too long or involves hard-to-find ingredients then it simply won't happen

    3) I also like tomatoes and spinach, so if you can get them in as well, that would be awesome.

I'm looking forward to hearing your suggestions.

  • Invoking Adobe acrobat reader from the Linux command line?

Can anyone remember what the command is? It's doing my head in because I hate xpdf and don't want to use the GUI just to open my documents.

  • Can't connect to any sign-in websites (SSL?)?

My friend's computer has suddenly developed this problem. Any time we try to sign in to an email account, we get an "unable to connect" error. I can sign in to yahoo answers ok, but hotmail, gmail etc all give this error.

The problem started after we cleaned her computer from all the spyware and other junk that was on it. Virus scans all show machine as clear. I seem to remember having the same problem on my machine a while ago but can't remember what the solution was.

Machine is a laptop, connected to ADSL broadband by a wireless router (checks out ok). Tried using Firefox and IE7, same problem on both.

    Any help much appreciated.

  • Does political leaning correlate with intelligence or education?

Does anyone know if there have been any studies about this? It seems that, generally, intellectuals and academics lean to the left and most right-leaning friends of mine are of generally low education or intelligence.

Obviously there are many, many exceptions in both cases (I do *not* want lists of smart/dumb left-wingers or smart/dumb right-wingers), but is there a general trend? Surely this would be worth investigating?

  • How should you prepare aduki (adzuki) beans for use in soup?

I've got a bag of dried Aduki beans that I just bought from my local grocers that I plan to use in some soup, however there are no instructions on the packet.

I had a look on the internet and some places say they need soaked overnight beforehand and some insist that they don't. Also, how long will they need to be boiled before they're tender?
