  • Tips for my first half marathon?

I'm going to be a senior in HS this fall, and I signed up for my first half marathon in August. I've been running CC/distance track since 7th grade, but I've never trained for this long of a race. For the past few months, my long runs have been 7-9 miles, and I'll be doing ~40 miles a week by July. Will 10-12 mile runs be long enough for the half? Should I make my easy runs (usually 4-5 miles) longer? Thanks!

  • What is the difference between a First Tri race and a Sprint Tri race?

I'm doing my first Triathlon this summer, and its going to be a Sprint Tri. But when I was registering, I saw that you can sign up the Olympic one, Ironman one, Sprint and First. Whats the difference? Like are the distances or competition different?

  • Cheap and easy ways to have fun this summer?

Cheap and easy ways to have fun this summer?

I am a fourteen yr old girl and love sports, but I live in Texas, so its really hot outside in the summer. My friends are also going to be gone a lot, so I am trying to find ways to be entertained but stay cool. I don't want to stay indoors. I love soccer, basketball, and tennis, and I also have a pool and a dog. Any answers appreciated! And also, some activities for just me and some activities for me and friends. Thanks so much!

BTW, the reason my question is in the Entertainment section is bc there isn't a summer section.

  • Are there any cell phone cases for the new LG Xenon?

I got the new LG Xenon (touch screen and slides sideways w/"qwerty" keyboard) Its blue (if that matters) and I have been looking everywhere, including online at AT&T... Does anyone know where I could find a case? Not a leather case that clips onto things, just a plain, hard plastic/vinyl kind.

  • Any tips for making creme brulee?

I am making creme brulee for the first time tomorrow. So do you have any tips for me? It's for Mother's day, and I am making six in ramekins. I am doing a water bath, and I am also following the ingredients on the back of the "creme brulee burner" box. Thanks a lot for your tips!

p.s. What type of sugar should I use on the top of the creme brulees? One recipe said to use more granulated sugar and another said to use turbinado sugar?

  • Some new haircut ideas?

Now I have dark brown hair about 4 in. past my shoulders (medium length I guess), some natural red-ish brown highlights in the summer (not a lot though), and some longer bangs. I am getting a haircut on Monday, and can't decide if I want to just trim it or do something a little different. My hair is somewhat wavy (sometimes its straight, sometimes a little wavy...), but I don't want to cut it short. My face is oval-shaped, with brown to green eyes (they change) and tan skin. I am also petite, and want a SIMPLE haircut, and not too different from now. I have to be able to put all my hair in a pony tail for sports without too many small clips, so not too many layers. Thanks so much!!!!!! Some pictures would be great!!!!! Thanks again! (I know I am a little picky....)

    P.S. I am 14 in 8th grade, entering 9th (Freshman in HS)

  • Some birthday gift ideas?

My daughter is turning 14 on in about a week, and I don't know what to get her! She doesn't really know either. So... She is tom-boy~ish and doesn't like Abercrombie, Hollister, or Aeropostal. She likes to run (does cross country) and loves sports (soccer, basketball, and some tennis) She wants Mario Kart for the Wii, and also loves Board games.

So, what board games or games should I get for her?

She already has a rip-stick and a BMX bike and rollerblades. She also has an i-pod, our family has an i-trip, and she has a stereo for cds and i-pods. UGH I hate doing when this happens!

Thanks a lot for your help!!!!

I would like a simple dessert, that isn't loaded with calories, fat, or sodium... We would also like simple, yet good desserts to make, and to have fun making/eating. We don't really like lemon, and only recipes without peanuts, walnuts, almonds, etc. or with the option of them. Thanks a lot!!!!

  • What to have for dessert?

Tomorrow we are going to have my grandma's cheesy potatoes (diced potatoes/hashed browns with cheese!!! kind of like a casserole...) and baby back ribs. So I was wondering, what would fit it for dessert? If possible, provide the recipe(s). Also, we don't want a ton of calories, fat, and sugar! Also, some on the LIGHT side are very welcome! Thanks in advance!

P.S. Please no lemon (Like lemon squares, pie, etc.)
