I am borrowing a friends' camera right now (Canon 600D), and have been transferring the files from the SDHC card by putting the card in my own camera and using its USB transfer cable as he does not have a cable for his own camera. This system worked fine until today when now my camera can not read the card and also it displays "communication error" when I connect it to my PC. The Canon (friends' camera) however still reads the card no problem so the card isnt corrupted. I have tried putting the card into a brand new USB card reader (yes its SDHC compatible) but the card doesn't appear on my computer (Removable disk G appears when I check show hidden files and folders but opening it just tells me to insert media). I put in another card to test the card reader and it worked.

I tried plugging in the problem card and card reader in to a older and slower PC and it showed up! And I could see the files on the card for all of two seconds before, while i was trying to copy the data, it disappeared and an error for the copying appeared saying "this device is not ready" or something similar.

Any suggestions? I have tried going into device manager and uninstalling the card reader, I have tried restarting loads of times, and I have tried different USB ports. Please help.

Also just before I started shooting today I deleted all the images that were previously on the card from another shoot using the canon, by using the erase all images function on the canon. Note this card is from my own camera (Fujifilm HS10) which I am using in my friends Canon. I don't know if erasing like this might have somehow caused the problem.

Should I get a 2GB GTX 560 Ti gpu for £20 more than the 1GB model? I use my machine primarily for creating and rendering 3d animations in Blender 3D and I do some video editing in Premiere and After Effects. All videos are in HD (some half, some full).

Please dont suggest any other graphics cards.

Also I use a single 1080p monitor.

Iam looking to build a new PC which i will be using for mostly video applications such as Adobe Aremiere and AfterEffects along with 3D CGI software like Blender3D and renderers like Luxrender. Quick render times are a must. (HD rendering 720p, 1080p)

I just want to know which graphics cards are the best for this, AMD or NIVIDIA. My budget for this is + or - £150.

i cant import .MOV files (quicktime) into premiere because it says it doesnt support it. ive tried using various conversion software but it always comes out wrong or not the best quality.(ive tried messing about with the settings but still weird).

so is there a way i can use a plugin or something to get premiere to recognise the format and import it?

which graphics card is better? statistically the gt 430 is better but there doesnt seem to be much of it on the internet (ie tests on games with the card). is this because its too new or because its crap and no-one is buying it. please help.

i would jailbreak but ive got a new ipod touch 8gb which came with 4.0.2 os and yes there is a jailbreak for none MC models with 4.0.2.....but ive got an MC model. ive got a PC not a MAC and so i cant use the InstallerApp either. And ive tried down-grading the ipod's os countless times but it simply wont work and neither does blackra1n. so i was wandering if there is a way to get free paid apps without jailbreaking or if there is a working jailbreak for 4.0.2.

i have a hp compaq dx2200 microtower PC that didnt come with OS disks and i dont know how to restore it to factory settings. the computer comes with a back up and restore centre and a hp recover drive, how do i use them and what for.

i know how i could make money after a bit of research but i dont know how i can actually start and where to go, what to do. iam not too keen on doing door to door asking if i can cut someones lawn or things like that. but is there a company or newsagents in newcastle upon tyne that can hire me.

this usually happens when I open folders containing videos and also when I click but do not open video files.

is there a website where I can earn money by doing things such as creating animations, graphics or just helping people solve their technical issues that doesn't need you to have qualifications or anything?

on the lenovo american site they have more options and products than on the uk site and plus its cheaper. but can i pay in £ and will they be able to ship it to england?
