Hey all! I've been doing freshwater for quite some time and I had recently set up a 29 gallon cichlid aquarium with the intention of putting some Leptosoma cichlid fry in but WHOOPS! They turned purple and died. They looked kind of funny in the bag but oh well, thats what I get for buying at an auction.

Anyways it has florida crushed coral as substrate but depending on the advice I get I can switch that out for some inert sand.

It still has water in it at the moment so do I need to disect it and wash everything or what?

I have a heater & an HOB filter (aquaclear 30).

I don't wish to keep live rock, but if it would benefit me to then of course I will.

All I wish to keep is 2 clownfish just to keep it simple. If there is another equally hardy fish that you could reccomend that'd be great! But I just want a light bioload and nothing too complex.

So basically:

1) do I *need* a protein skimmer?

2) do I need to get some live sand?

3) how do I convert from fresh to salt?

4) did I forget anything?

I realise this question is something of a tall order, so thanks SO much!

Does anybody know of a super tough camcorder with pretty good lowlight capabilities and great audio (or a great external mic).

And when I say tough I mean like mosh pit/skateboarding tough.

I'd like it to be relatively cheap (not over 1K)

I have a DCR-HC21 handycam and I'd like to be able to use headphones with it but it doesn't seem to have a headphone jack.

Is there any kind of converter or something I can use to be able to use headphones with this camcorder?

I read The Maids after we read Deathwatch at school and I've found Mr. Genet to be a fantastic author and playwright but I am a tad confused as to who dies in The Maids.

I have an empty (save some black flourite) 30 gallon regular tank and no real clue what to put in it. In the past I've kept parrot cichlids, GBR cichlids, Livebearers, Bichirs, Goldies, Glass Catfish and a fleet of cories and other fish I simply picked up.

But I've been trying for a while to get this 30 right. I tried a pair of parrots but found the tank to be too tall for them.

What I'd like is multiple specimines of 1 species...and I'd like that species to be

-at least semi-colorful

-active

-and able to survive in sub-80 temperatures.

I've been thinking of goldies, P.Acei or some wild caught sunfish.

Any suggestions will be appriciated!

hi. I've just recently decided to take the jump and gauge my ears...where can I get good quality (and not too expensive) tapers and plugs?

I only want to gauge to 4...2 at the absolute most if that makes a difference.

Also, what kind of lubrication works best? I've heard surgical lubrication, aloe vera....and some weirdo suggested crisco...but I think that'd be a bad idea...

also, my lobes are attached, I assume this wont make a difference...does it?
