I love sitting on the porch after a long, slow, warm, sunny day watching horses with a jar of sweet tea slushie in my lap, passing notes, picking wild flowers, driving through the countryside, adventure and most of all faith, family and friends.

  • 18: Done growing height wise?

    Hey all!

I'm eighteen coming on nineteen and am 5'3". I've been this height for quite awhile, but was wondering if the reason why is because I finished growing in height a few years back, or do I still have potential for getting a bit taller?

    Thanks!

  • What saddle seat size am I?

    Hi all,

I did a little research on how to find my saddle size and I came up with this:

    Western: 15"

    Australian: 16"

    English: 17"

I've ridden mostly bareback and when with a saddle the wrong size. I weigh in at 116.2 pounds and am 5' 3". From that can you determine whether or not these are accurate guesses?

    Thanks much everyone!

  • Approx. size for Mustang bridles?

    Hi all,

I'm looking into buying a Mustang and would like to know the approx. measurements I can expect his/her tack to be. They range in from 700 to 800 pounds and the one I plan on getting is around 14.3 hands.

1.) Do you all think bits and bridles for an Arabian or Thoroughbred might fit?

2.) Do you recommend a ring snaffle bit? What size?

3.) Western or English bridle? What size range?

I would really like to know what you use for your Mustangs, tack and all.

    Thanks much in advance!

  • Is a 14-14.3hh equine the right size for me?

I'm roughly 5' 3" tall and weigh anywhere from 120-125 pounds. I'm looking into a smaller sized horse or pony from 14 hands to 14.3 hands and anywhere from 700 to 800 pounds. I believe these were the same measurements the Pony Express boys and their steeds had! :) However, I would like to know what I would look like riding such a horse and what your input is. Would I fit? Also, I ride bareback 90% of the time or with a very, very light weight bareback pad and soon maybe a bareback saddle.

    Thanks all!
