  • Is there any legal way to fight my should have been ex sister in law from getting surviving spouse V.A. checks?

My brother died recently before he was able to divorce his should have been ex. The woman left him and their 2 kids while he was in Afghanistan, cleaned out the bank and left a note at her Mom's house saying she could keep the kids she didn't want them. My brother was left financially ruined and had to move in with my parents. He was about to divorce her and dating another woman when he passed away due to combat related injuries. The wife ( i use the term lightly) found out about his passing. He died on a Sunday and she was at the V.A. hunting a check on Monday morning.

She now plays the poor grieving widow... who is nothing more than a sick twisted leach.

My question is, Is there any law or anything I can do to block her from getting paid off his death? They had been split for almost 4 years and he couldn't find her at all to even attempt to get her to legally sign over rights to the kids to him.

It just makes me sick, she messed him over at the worst time in his life and now will get a check every month for it.

Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

  • Can i add a new lovebird to a pair i all ready have? ?

I have a pair of lovebirds 1 male 1 female. A friend of mine also has a pair that are both female. One her birds is laying eggs 4 in 2 months and now picking feathers. She was also attacking her cage mate and had to be separated. My friend and I have decided that because she wants to breed so bad that I would take her and see if my male will... you know. The cage I have is large enough for all 3 but would it cause any problems to add another female? My pair are very attached I don't want them to flip out too bad... so fellow bird people what so you think? Will it work possibly or bad idea? Thank you a head of time for answers.

  • Income tax question.?

I will make 60,000 from the sale of a home overseas after the first of the year. I know I will have to claim it as income on next years taxes. As of right now I am currently unemployed. My question is can my wife who is working full time have extra tax taken out each paycheck to go to the amount of taxes we will owe on the 60,000 so that once we file we will not owe some crazy amount?

We know on a payroll tax form she can have extra money held for taxes, we just want to make sure it would be applied to the total house hold income since we will file married-jointly.

Sorry if this is a totally stupid question I am new to the USA and my wife is not 100% sure on the matter.

  • Do i have moles in my garden? how do I get rid of them?

I have very small tunnels in my yard, and now my veggi garden I assume they are moles. The tunnels only about 2-3 inches wide, is this even large enough to be a mole? Images I find online show huge tunnels. and I don't see any mounds. I can not stomp out all of the tunnels as the little buggers have started to go thew my garden right under my corn and tomato's. I have already planted garlic around the garden trying to keep them at bay but apparently that's a myth as they go right threw it. I don't want to use cat poop or or cray chemicals ( other things i have found online) as I would like to eat the things from my garden with out getting sick. I feel like I am in a bad remake of caddy shack!! HELP!!!

~~ Going to war with the evil garden moles.

  • Egyptian ladies and Muslims living in the USA, question for you?

    Salam Alekome Ladies!

I converted to Islam a year before my husband and I married, We had a 100% halal relationship before we were married, I am American(27Y.O) he is Egyptian (29 Y.O). He moved here while I finish my education then we are moving home to Alex. as we both feel more at home there.

Any way my question to all of my Muslim sisters living here is, How do you handle some of the off the wall questions some of us get about Islam and the way that the media portrays "The mistreating of the Muslim women"

It annoys me so much some times when I get the most stupid questions like "oh... does your husband hit you?" or " Arnt you scared to go back there?" "I bet his family hates you huh?" " He makes you wear that on your head?"

Oh it makes me want to scream NO NO NO, and That my husband is the most kind person, he would never hit me! His family LOVES me and I love them, and Egypt is by FAR more safe then here! and the Hijab, I wear it because i am PROUD to be Muslim.

It dosent happen every day, but i live in a small southern town and I am sure some people are just curious and maybe mean nothing by it, maybe by asking me they some how broaden their minds and come away with a much better idea about Islam and the people who live it... but wow some times they floor me with their boldness.

Have you ladies ever had any off the wall questions? How did you handle them?

Hope you all have a wonderful night inshalla!

  • My bank rejected my IRS return DD, How long will it take to get a check?

I went to the bank today to find out where my DD was the irs says it was DD on the 5th. My bank rejected the return because the account was in my name only and not my husbands name also. Wheres my refund still says the same info that my deposit went in on the 5th, Any one know how long it will take to get a paper check in the mail? The bank says they will not be able to process the dd again since it was already sent back to the IRS and I will have to wait for a check and they have no time line for this. Thank you ahead of time for any answers.

  • My DD for 2009 tax return was today, but i have not received it yet. Should I be worried?

The IRS website said it was DD today to my Pen Air credit union account. Nothing is showing in my acct and Pen Air has no pending deposits for my account. Should i be worried? Pen Air normally is great and my direct deposits hit at 12:01 midnight. Does the IRS normally process more slowly then a direct deposited paycheck? Luckily I don't have to have the money right now, but should i be worried it has yet to process?

  • My brother will be deployed with the 101st Airborne and I would like to get him a gift, but i dont know what?

The man has every thing! I found a very nice special edition swiss army knife but my sister in law said he already has one. He is a gun collector and has a giant collection so there is no use with that either. He is the type of guy that would be happy with just a hug and a stay safe but I want to get him something special from my husband and I. Any former or current deployed soldiers have any good ideas? My brother is my best friend and I am very proud of him.
