I am 33 with two boy's who are 10 and 11 from a previous marraige. I am now remarried to the greatest guy ever and we are ttc number 3. I recently misciarried in may at 10 weeks after 13 months of ttc. Yea I finally got my BFP...09/05/09...baby edd is 5/15/10

  • Has anyone done the cvs testing for downs?

I just left my doctors office and now my head is spinning, I am 34 and pregnant with number 3. My ob has made a recommendation that I get the cvs testing done for downs., mostly because of my age, and because of 2 previous miscarriages. I would like to get it done for obvious reasons but I am really apprehensive because there is a 1% chance of the test causing a miscarriage. Has anyone gone through this and what was the outcome? I am 9 weeks and 3 days pregnant. They want to do the test in two weeks. My doctor has told me that the regular screening is just that, it is just screening and it can give you a ton of false positives where the cvs test can tell you 99% whether your baby will have some form of genetic problems.

  • Any mommy's to be in their 30's?

First off, I don't do any of these things before I get yelled at..lol...but isn't it crazy how much the rules of can't do's in pregnancy have change from when our mothers carried us and in my case even from 10 years ago when I had my boy's. My mom tells me that the only really big no, no was drinking. She actually smoked while pregnant with me. When I was pregnant with my boy's at 22 and 23 in my first marriage I'm not sure if I was just young and uninformed or didn't pay as much attention as I do now, but my understanding was to not drink, no drugs(which I wouldn't do anyway) and no smoking. I never really gave up caffeine or any foods and I worked a very physical job at Ford. Now 10 years later, being pregnant again, I am paranoid to do much of anything..lol..I feel like I have to read labels on everything I eat, give up pop totally and only have 1 cup of coffee a day. I'm not complaining, It just seems odd. It seems like there are just as many unhealthy babies born and even more with certain problems like autism and add and things of that nature. Do any of you wonder about this or even get paranoid and frustrated at times like I do. I know being older I already have to be more careful but I am just plain freaked out this time around!

  • How do you get over the fear?

I just got my BFP yesterday and i'm so happy but extremely scared at the same time. In February me and dh finally conceived after 13 months of ttc but we sadly lost our baby at the end of April at 10 weeks and I am so scared to have that happen again. I'm not a spring chicken anymore..lol..I'm 34 and worried that maybe it has something to do with my age. I am very healthy but again a little older than most ttc'ers I think. I have 2 boy's from my previous miscarriage who are 9 and 11 and the pregnancy was very smooth with no problems with the two of them. Have any of you wonderful ladies had a miscarriage and then went on to have a successful pregnancy? Also, I just wanted to let you poas addicts like me know that I had ordered some internet test both from early-pregnancy-test.com that were 20 miu and babywishes.com that were supposed to be 10miu and I didn't get a positive with either of them (not even a faint line) but testing on the same day, I did get a clear positive with first response and the dollar tree test. Good luck on getting your bfp and thanks for reading my question.

  • Anyone else in the dreaded 2ww and want to share?

Hi ladies and much baby dust to you all. I thought maybe we could share some stories and vent a little...lol...I am 34 and ttc number 3. I have two wonderful boys who are 9 and 11 and now we are hoping for number 3. We conceived in February after 13 months of ttc but unfortunately lost the baby at the end of April at 10 weeks. We have been trying since the middle of May now with no luck. You would think it would get easier for us ladies because we would get used to the bfn's after trying for so long but it seems to get worse. Most of us use opk's and stuff and are bd at the right time so it's just hard to understand why it isn't happening for some of us and for others, they are on the pill and using the pull out method and getting pregnant. I'm wondering if at 34, my eggs are just getting too old...lol...How do you wonderful ladies who have been trying for years get through all of this? Good luck to all of you ttc'ers and I hope the time comes soon for all of us! I am 5 dpo and praying for a BFP next week ;)

  • Just need some support from my yahoo friends?

Hi ladies, I can barely write right now because i'm balling my eyes out. I was supposed to me exactly 10 weeks today, I had a vaginal ultrasound at 8 weeks and saw my baby and the heartbeat...everything was fine. I went to my ob today for a regular check-up and he said my uterus felt small so he sent me to the hospital. I saw the baby but it only measured 8 weeks and there was no heartbeat, my baby was not alive anymore. Monday I have to go in for a d and c. After 13 months of trying and finally becoming pregnant, I don't know how to deal with this. Please tell me how you delt with a miscarraige and how soon after can I try again?

  • what do the abbriaviations and number's on ultasound mean?

Hi fellow soon to be mommies:)

Ok so according to my lmp I would be 6 weeks and 4 days pregnant today. My ob had some concerns because my uterus was measuring large and my hcg numbers were quite high last week so my ob sent me in for a vaginal scan today. My problem is that the tech would not give me any info on what anything meant, although she did show me the flickering heartbeat which was awesome! and I don't see my ob for 3 more weeks. I am not sure how to get a pic on here so I am going to give the abbreviations and numbers that are on my pic and maybe you can compare them to yours, or tell me what they mean...Thanks in Advance ladies!

  • Just a little confused with some things?

First of all, thank you for taking the time to read my question...i'm just a little confused and freaking out so I will start with some basic info.

    last lmp-Feb. 13th

BFP-march 13 by blood test, hcg was 59, 14 dpo and doctor said I was 4 weeks pregnant

    16 dpo- hcg was 133

23 dpo- hcg was 4800 I was 5 weeks and 2 days and ob expected my hcg to be only arounf 1200

now today, I went in at exactly 6 weeks. I am not due for an ultrasound until next tuesday but my doctor said it seems that I could only be 6 weeks due to the hcg being so low with the first test but my hcg has quadrupled and my uterus is measuring quite large but he didn't explain. So I asked the receptionist on my way out what my ob meant by my uterus measuring larger and she said from the measurements it could mean that i'm further along like 8 weeks...but I don't see how that could be. So I guess i'm asking, is there any other reason that it would be measuring larger..like could that mean there is a problem or anything to do with twins or a miscarriage?

Sorry for babbling, i'm just nervous..Thank you ladies!

  • Question about hcg levels?

Hi ladies...here are my levels and i'm a little concerned at how fast they jumped...There are no twins on either side of me and my hubby's family, so i'm wondering if high levels can mean something is wrong..I have read about multiples and molar pregnancies. I will be 6 weeks on thursday and I go to my ob for an ultrasound then but because I am 33 and my levels were low to start, he has been sending me for blood work.

    14 dpo 59 (exactly 4 weeks)

    16 dpo 133

    23 dpo 4230 (5 weeks and 2 days)

basically, it quadrupled so i'm a little nervous

Thank you ladies, and tons of baby dust to you!

  • finally BFP after 13 months of ttc number 3 :)?

I finally got my bfp today at 14 dpo...af was due today. So for all of you early testers (you know who you are...lol). Just hang in there because I got a bfn on an early first response test just yesterday. My only symptoms were lack of appetite, trouble sleeping and I always check my cervix and this time after ovulation, it stayed high and soft. I know I have to ask a question so this doesn't get deleted so here goes. I always here of woman getting more hungry and I can't stand the thought of food right now, so is this normal and is it normal to still be getting af type cramps?

GOOD LUCK and much BABY DUST to all of my fellow ttc'ers. Thanks for helping me through this journey!!!

  • Kind of long, but worried?

Ok, so I am 7 or 8 dpo I took a dollar store test and got a positive (so i thought) but i think it was an evap line...it was within the ten minutes and very faint but pink, but it is slowly disappearing so I used the same urine and took another dollar store test and first response and both negative so I'm not feeling hopeful. Any way, I am really worried because Wednesday 4 or 5dpo I had a tooth extracted. They first gave me a liquid sedation, which did not work in the 10 minutes so they ended up giving me two more little cups of it..ultimately they ended up giving me an iv because it either wasn't working or taking too long. Now I have been in bed for 2 days and went to my regular doctor today because my motor skills and everything were off. I feel better now but my doctor told me they way over medicated me because I am very small and that was way too much sedation. My question is, if I had finally conceived this month after 12 months of ttc would this affect the process or was it hopefully too soon to do any damage. Sorry this was so long, thank you for taking the time to read it because I am freaking out.

  • encouragement from my ttc Friends :(?

First of all, I have been ttc for 8 months now. OK, i'm pretty sure I just had a miscarriage. I had 2 positive hpt's on Thursday...2 days after AF was due, so of course me and DH were so excited, I told my mother and my two little boys and we were so excited. Well yesterday, being Saturday I started bleeding very heavy and still today, like my period. I took a test yesterday, very faint positive and 2 test today...negative. I know I obviously had a miscarriage and I am so upset. I just want to give up. I'm always hearing that once a person quits trying so hard that it usually happens. My ob also told me that trying so hard can cause our hormones to be all screwy and it can make it that much harder to conceive. Has any one had success after they quit trying. I am so upset so yesterday I threw away my opk's and hpt's and we are just going to relax and try to have sex every other day. I'm sorry, I guess I am just venting and really upset right now. I wish you all luck and tons of baby dust...and to all of you ladies who have been trying for a really long time, my heart truly goes out to you. I don't know how you get through this every month.

  • Anyone with recent BFP who checks their cervix?

Ok ladies...I know, I know, your not supposed to use your cervix position as an indicator of pregnancy but I am 12 dpo...AF is due today and BFN, but usually right before af shows up my cervix is really low (easy to reach) and firm. Way too much tmi but today, it is extremely high, soft and wet. It almost feels the same as everything else in there right now...very mushy. Have any of you noticed this soon before you got your BFP??? I guess i'm just grasping at straws here...lol...good luck ladies and tons of baby dust:)

  • Anyone want to vent with me?

I have been ttc for 8 months now. 12 dpo, 1 day away from expected af , and BFN this morning. I have no pregnancy symptoms or signs of AF showing but I know she is on her way. My DH and I are getting so discouraged and just feel like it's never going to happen. Everytime I go on the pregnancy forum, I see questions about abortion and it just breaks my heart. I am already blessed with two boy's, 9 and 10 years old from my previous marriage so I am thankful but I am soooo wanting number 3. I really wanted a girl but at this point, I don't care what sex the baby would be, I just want another child so bad. Why is this so hard. My first child was unexpected, I was on bc...hence the first marriage and I went to get on bc again after my first child because the ex was cheating and guess what, I was pregnant. So even though I got a divorce while I was pregnant, I am so glad I conceived my two boys but I just don't get it, why is it so hard this time around. My dh was checked and his sperm count is great and all of my test came back good, so I am at a loss. I'm sorry, I guess I am just extremely frustrated and looking for some words of encouragement. And god bless you ladies who have been trying for a year and more. My heart goes out to you, I don't know how you deal with the disappointment of not conceiving month after month.

  • Probably a stupid question...sorry?

Ok, I have been ttc for almost 8 months now. I have been using opk's for the last two. Today I am 9 dpo and 6 days away from when af is due. Last night I kept getting a shooting pain right under my left breast like where my ribs are. When I woke up this morning, they were gone but now i'm getting a shooting pain on my right leg, in the front. It starts by my hip then goes down to my knee. It only last a second or so but it really hurts and keeps happening. I'm not asking if you think i'm pregnant or if I should go to the doctor...lol..I'm just asking if this happens to anyone and if you know what it might be caused from. Thank you in advance ladies and tons of baby dust to you:)

  • A little confused about ob appointment?

I am using opk sticks and have previously seen my ob to make sure I was ovulating and he insured me that I am. I got a positive lh surge thursday and friday morning and had ewcm and a little pain so i'm sure I ovulated on Saturday or sunday. So today I am only 3 dpo at the most and after getting a pap smear my ob told me that me cervix was still very high and soft( I knew this myself because I check it daily) so anyway, he knows that I am only 3 dpo and not due to start af until October 3rd but he said because of the way my cervix felt, he had me do a blood pregnancy test which has me very confused...Is he just trying to make a little extra money...lol...I thought their is no way to detect pregnancy this early when it would not have even implanted yet and I also thought that the cervix position is in no way an indicator of pregnancy??? Any experience would be greatly appreciated...thanks ladies:)

  • 3 dpo and going to my OB?

I have my regular scheduled ob appointment today and I have been ttc for 7 months now. I am sure I ovulated on Saturday. I know it's way too early to detect pregnancy even with a blood test so my question is, Will a papsmear do any harm if I did happen to finally conceive a few days ago???

  • If you have trouble getting cm:)?

I just wanted to share something that might help. I have been ttc for almost 7 months now. I recently started using the opk sticks and for the past 4 months I have been checking my cervix position and cervical mucus. I was having very little mucus and barely any of the ewcm. My OB told me that that may be part of the problem because you need ewcm to keep the sperm healthy and help them travel. I ordered fertile cm from earlypregnancytest.com it is supposed to make you produce more cm. I started taking it during my last af which started on August 8th. I got a positive opk this morning and I am starting to have a lot of the ewcm so it definitely works. It also increases your sex drive some and that is working too....lol. Hopefully this will be my month and we will all see our long awaited BFP soon:)

  • Looking for some encouragement:(?

OK, so me and the dh have been ttc for 6 months now but I started af today:( so going on 7 months. Prior to ttc we both got checked out to make sure we could conceive due to our age, I am 33 he is 45. We both have kids from our previous marriage and we are wanting a little one of our own. I for sure thought this was our month, it looked perfect. AF was on august 14th positive opk on the 23rd, 24th. We bed on the 22nd, 24th, 25th and the 27th, couldn't do much more because dh is out of town often but I thought our timing was right. This is so frustrating and the only thing I have noticed, is that I get very little ewcm...it barely stretches at all and is only there maybe a day and a half. I just ordered fertile cm from the internet, it is supposed to promote more ewcm and increase fertility. I am just wondering if anyone has had success with this and if you know that having such a little amount of ewcm could be the problem?? Thank you for taking the time to read this. I am sitting here crying like a baby...lol...and just looking for some hope.

  • anyone who recently got a bfp and checks cervix position?

I know most sites say you can't detect early pregnancy by your cp but a few said it is possible. I am 9 dpo and I guess looking for some hope because I have been testing with only bfn's...I know it's early but I really have a feeling this month and the bfn's have me down. I used the opk's and I regularly check my cm and cp so I know how it feels during my cycle days. I am 6 days away from af and usually at this time, my cervix is low, hard and dry, but this time it has not really come down after ovulation so it is still high, soft and I have lot's of white lotiony cm. Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated...Good luck and tons of baby dust to all ttc'ers:)
