  • Is it legal for my employer to dock pay?

At my job, if you are late (even by a minute), have to call in or go home early, or don't sign up for mandatory overtime shifts, they lower your hourly pay by $1. For example, if you make $11 an hour and have to call in sick, for that pay period they dock you $1 an hour, so you only make $10 an hour. I'm just wondering if this is legal, because I've had multiple people tell me that it's not. I've also been told that mandatory overtime is not legal. If anyone has any information, I would appreciate it! :)

  • Headaches every day for a few weeks...?

Hi there. So I've had problems with migraines in the past, I'd get them semi frequently, but I think they were because of stress/emotional trauma. Now lately, I've been getting different kinds of headaches, literally every day, for at least 3 weeks. Sometimes it just a dull, annoying pain. Sometimes I get one that comes on really fast and out of nowhere, is completely excruitiating but it's gone within a few minutes. Sometimes they make me dizzy or just make me feel weird. Not sure how to explain it. I make sure to eat small meals every few hours and I'm fairly healthy and exercise regularly. I've had some recent stress (murder of a friend) which could be causing the ones lately, but before that my life was just typical for me, so no obvious cause for headaches. I have reading glasses I wear as I'm supposed to and yes the prescription is up to date. It's getting to the point where I go through a 100 count bottle of ibuprofen in a week. Does anyone have any possible causes/treatments? The pain usually isn't in the same spot either, sometimes it's near my temple (one or both sides), sometimes it's on the occipital ridge, back of the head, between the eyes, etc. Sometimes I get blurry spots (like when you stare at the sun) and I occasionally get ringing in the ears, but no headache is ever exactly like one I've had before. I'm a 20 year old girl, by the way. Any help is appreciated. Thanks so much!

  • How much can I sell a working, but cracked screen, iPod for?

I just got an iPhone so I'm looking to sell my 4th generation 32gb iPod Touch. The screen is cracked, but it still works perfectly. I'll probably sell it on eBay or something, just wondering about how much I could get for it?

  • When does life begin, according to the law, in Wisconsin?

I'm just wondering when life begins, according to the law, in Wisconsin? I know each state has their own laws. In my politics class we learned that in New York, life doesn't begin until a baby draws breath, so even in the case of abandoned newborns, murder charges can't be brought if it's determined the baby was stillborn. So I'm just wondering what Wisconsin's law is on the matter.

  • Red bump on bridge of nose?

On Thursday, when I went to go put my makeup on, I got kind of a shooting pain when I ran my sponge over the bridge of my nose. And then later that day I kind of itched my nose and got another bad pain when I touched the bridge. My coworker said the bridge of my nose was red, and by the next day I had developed a bump. Well it's now early Monday morning and the bump is still there, it's gotten a little bigger and the area surrounding it is red. It only hurts when I touch it. I've tried popping it because I thought it was a pimple but no matter what I did it wouldn't pop or even come to a head, so I don't think it's a zit. Any thoughts on what it could be or what I can do to get rid of it? I haven't tried to pop it since Friday because I don't want to irritate it.

  • Having trouble creating my own calendar online? (Lulu and Mixbook)?

I'm trying to make a Backstreet Boys calendar for 2013 online as a Christmas gift for a friend. I thought it would be a cute, fun way to count down the days to the cruise next year as well. I've tried two of the top sites that I could find (Lulu and Mixbook) but all the pictures I choose say they could print poorly. NONE of the pictures I've selected have been "good enough quality" and I even found "calendar quality pictures" and they still warn me about them. How can I change the quality of the picture so it will print clearly on the calendar or find some way to make it work?

    Any help is appreciated. :)

  • As an EMT, when do you stop performing CPR?

I'm currently taking an EMT course, and we got our CPR certification a few weeks ago. I passed the training, but one thing I'm wondering is, when do you stop performing CPR? I know that in an ideal world, it would be when the patient regains a pulse/starts breathing again. But that isn't always the case. How do you know when to stop/pronounce the person dead?

Also, in the news and stuff, you sometimes hear the reporters say the person was "pronounced dead on the scene". Did those EMTs/paramedics attempt CPR or just pronounce the person dead? How do you know when to do which?

I feel really dumb asking this, because I feel like I should know the answer, but I don't want to ask in class.

  • Pain on top of my left hand?

I'm an EMT student and last class we were doing CPR all night, and so naturally I had to do a lot of chest compressions. I had my right hand over my top hand, so I was pushing down on it for quite awhile. I noticed the pain right away and it still hasn't gone away. My hand is a little puffy and red as well. I can't even dry my hands off without it hurting. It's on the top of my hand sort of on the bone. It's towards the bottom of my hand, more towards the wrist (closer to my thumb and pointer finger than the pinky). I've been icing and taking ibuprofen but it hurts. Any suggestions on what it could be/what I could do?

My class is mainly guys so I didn't want to seem like a baby and complain about my hand hurting

    Just for fun. :)

I would say Backstreet Boys, of course. I've been in love with them forever, and they're still going strong.<3

  • Types of cardio to do with shin splints?

I'm looking for different types of cardio to do with shin splints? I'm trying to lose a little weight (I just wanna burn off my belly, back thigh, and waist fat [yes I know that you can't target which area you burn fat from]) and I've been staying consistent doing cardio and strength training. I live in a not so great neighborhood, and we don't have trails or nice grass to run on, so I always run on the sidewalk (which is concrete). Well my shin splints are so bad now (because I'm too stubborn to stop running) that they hurt even when I'm not doing anything. Just walking home from the bus stop puts my legs (shins and calves) in excruciating pain.

I don't have access to a pool, I don't have a bike, and I can't afford a gym membership, so is there any cardio I can do to still help me lose weight without hurting my legs more? Any help is appreciated. :)

  • My Sony Vaio laptop screen is cracked?!?

So I have a Sony Vaio laptop and I brought it to work to get some stuff done on my break. I put it in my bag, walked to my car and put it in the trunk, and when I opened it when I got home most of the screen is white with a big black crack and I can see the screen faintly flickering behind the white. I didn't drop it or anything, and my it was on a huge pile of blankets/yoga mats in the trunk. How did it crack? And if I buy a new screen can I replace it myself?

  • Right side of whole face number 12 hours after wisdom teeth extractions?

So I got all five of my wisdom teeth extracted today around 10:30 (the extra one was way up high on my left side). My resting heart rate was 126 so they gave me nitrous oxide to try and bring it down before sedating me and using a local. I guess my heart rate was very high the whole time. Anyways, it's been just about 12 hours and I'm in tons of pain, but the whole right side of my face is numb. My forehead, eyelids, cheeks, mouth, lip, chin, everything! Is this normal? I have no more numbness on the left side.

  • Luxor Evolved 12.02.15.0004 has stopped working?

My grandma bought this Luxor Evolved game and it seems to install fine on her computer (it's a Dell operating on Windows Vista), but when I open it, I get a Window's message that says "Luxor Evolved 12.02.15.0004 has stopped working" and the only option is to close the program. I've unistalled it, restarted the computer, turned off the anti virus software (Norton), made sure she was an Administrator on the computer, and installed the lasted version of DirectX, but still no luck! So I thought maybe it was a faulty disc, and I tried to install it on my laptop. (Sony Vaio with Windows 7) It works perfectly. I'm so confused! Anyone else have this problem or suggestions to fix it? Thanks!

  • What are cops referring to when they say "fives"?

On L&O (which I watch a lot) they use the term "fives" to refer to some kind of report or something? I'm just wondering what it means because I can't find the answer on Google. Thanks!

  • I got sad and wanted to cry for no reason?

The other day at work, I just randomly got sad and I kept feeling like I was going to cry. I also just felt like I didn't want to be anywhere. I didn't want to be at home, at work, on vacation, with a friend, nothing. I just wanted to be nowhere. I was also moving more slowly and it was hard to smile. It lasted a few hours then I seemed okay. It happened out of the blue, for no specific reason. It's happened a few other times in the last couple weeks as well. I'm 19, almost 20, a female (and no, it's not happening when I'm on or close to my period). My mother, who passed away last July, had issues with being bipolar, depressed, and she had anxiety. Now I'm starting to worry that I might have some of those. Am I worrying about nothing, like maybe it's hormones, or is this worth seeing someone (my doctor) about?

    Thanks for any advice/help!!

  • Estimate on what this tattoo would cost? (And a few other questions?)?

On average, because I know prices vary, how much would it cost to get a small dove, the letters KMC and 11-15-03 (underneath the letters) on the inside of my wrist? The tattoo would be fairly small. Also, do I have to go in and have him draw it, or can I call and describe it over the phone? Will he draw it/tattoo it the same day? Thanks! This will be my first tattoo. :)

  • The skin on my toes are shredded/cut?

I was at the Kalahari this past weekend so naturally, I spent a lot of time in the water park. The bottom of the pools are always kind of rough and I was clearly barefoot, and now the skin on my two big toes are almost shredded looking and it hurts so bad. I've been putting band aids on when I work out cuz I put a lot of pressure on my feet but it hurts so bad and I noticed blood on my socks today. What can I do to help it go away faster?

P.S. I don't wear the band aids all the time. I know I should let them breathe.

  • Is it normal to try writing a story/book..?

Without knowing what you want it to turn into? I've written a lot of stories, and the other night, I just had this burning desire to write, but I had no clue what to write about, so I just started typing whatever popped into my head, and it seems to be the start of something good. The only problem is, I have no idea what I want the plot to be and stuff. Is it normal to just write and kind of let the story develop as I go? Or should I think about the plot so I have some guidelines first? I've never done it like this before.

  • Could I get a car loan with a credit score of around..?

I'm looking to buy my first car this summer. I've got a credit score of about 650 (that was in December, and I've been making my student loan payment on time every month [I've got nothing else in my name, currently]). I was considering just making a $2500 down payment at the dealer and then using my other $1000 for insurance and fees and such. But now I'm thinking it might be better to get a loan from a credit union. The loan would be for about $15,000. Could I still get one with my average credit score?
