  • Who should I keep in NL-only league?

In a competitive NL-Only League (Auction draft - $260 budget, 23 man roster) and I am allowed to keep up to 3 players.

Who would you keep amongst these options?

    Joey Votto - $37

    Mat Latos - $6

    John Axford - $6

    Drew Storen - $5

    Jaime Garcia - $6

I think Latos and Votto seems like locks to make my team. Axford has inside track for final spot. I don't like keeping closers but think he will at least give me more production as closer for Milwaukee then a closer on a bad team (Storen) or decent starter on a good team (Garcia)

Should I reconsider who I think I should keep?

My decision is due tomorrow night

  • Did I wreck my transmission?

I drive a stick shift and always leave my car in neutral with Emergency Brake on when it is parked. Someone had used the car and left it in first gear. When I started my car today thinking it was in neutral, I let off clutch and car lurched forward before I stopped it.

Now suddenly the car won't run and seems to be making a clicking sound when trying to drive. Did I just wreck my transmission? Or could it be something less minor (i hope)?

Has anyone else experienced this and let me know how it turned out for them.

  • Keeper Question - Would you keep a 3rd player in NL-only league?

I am in 12 person NL-only keeper league. Draft is auction style. We are allowed to keep up to 3 players.

I have 2 players that are definitely being kept with C Miguel Montero ($5) & OF Carlos Gonzalez ($5) already locked up.

    My other options include

    Johnny Cueto - $14

    Zach Duke - $5

    Paul Maholm - $7

    Brad Penny - $6

    Seth Smith - $5

I think Cueto is a little too much and likely to go for about the same amount in draft next week. I am considering Duke because he is #1 guy for Pirates for whatever that is worth. I thought Maholm pitched well when I saw him last year so think he might return more value but figured to wait on him. Considering Penny since he pitches under Duncan with Cardinals and not sure if Seth Smith can get enough time away from Fowler or Gonzalez but have read that he might be ready to break out.

Would you keep any of these guys?

  • NL-Only league...who do I try to add?

There were a few trades this week and guys that came over from American League are available for us to pick up.

We have free agent money (FAAB) and I have 2nd most free agent dollars left with $74 while the top team has $77 and they are also ahead of me in tie breaker. (so if we both bid $74, they win player).

My team has been at top of pitching categories all year long but faltering lately (Cueto, Maholm, Zach Duke, Josh Johnson) so I was probably bidding all $74 on Cliff Lee. The top team lost Jake Peavy so I expect they will bid $74 as well on Lee so now I am stuck with deciding between Scott Rolen or Adam LaRoche (he was dropped when traded to Boston).

I expect LaRoche to play almost everyday in replace of Kotchman and really only pay attention to NL, so wasn't sure if Rolen has declined and worse option or should I take him over LaRoche?

  • Isn't about time we enacted TERM LIMITS for members of Congress?

Obama administration receives all the focus when it comes to budgets and the same was true of Bush administration. Meanwhile it is the members of congress and house that are helping to pass (and fill with pork) all these bills.

Isn't it about time we really enacted "Term Limits" for members of Congress so that they aren't free to just keep lining their pockets for decades?

While we are at it, shouldn't we take away their golden parachute health coverage (tax payer based health care system for Congress that they enjoy for lifetime without paying for...if they had to pay for their health care they would probably fix the system)

  • Could nightclub involved in Plaxico shooting get sued?

Here in NY there is a lot of talk of Plaxico Burress case (Giants WR accidently shot himself inside Latin Quarters nightclub on Friday night - tried to cover up but eventually turned himself into police)

Mayor Bloomberg wants Burress to get sentenced to jail time if convicted (3 1/2 years mandatory minimum for loaded gun in NY)

Bloomberg also wants to go after the hospital for failing to notify police of shooting (hospital must legally notify police of shooting victim)

If someone attended Latin Quarters on the same night as Plaxico Burress, could they legally sue the club and win?

This particular night club has a metal detector and obviously someone allowed a celebrity to bypass the security and enter the club with loaded gun. If Burress got drunk and started shooting up the place, I have no doubt that a person could bring a lawsuit against the club for their failure to protect them.

However with all the facts that seem to be known, would someone have a legit case if they sued LQ's right now for the breech in security and potential danger they exposed the individual to?

  • Which 2 RBs do I start?

    Need to start 2 RBs.

    Marshawn Lynch vs. Cleveland

    Steve Slaton at Indy

    Tim Hightower at Seattle

    Willis McGahee at Giants

I don't really consider McGahee an option with tough matchup and fact that there are 3 RBs in Baltimore that touch the ball.

Should I start Lynch & Hightower or Lynch & Slaton or maybe even Slaton & Hightower

    need help.....thanks

  • Would you VETO this Fantasy Football trade?

I am in a 12 team league. A recent trade has been made between two owners and another owner is really upset since he thinks the deal is unfair.

I am just curious as to whether anyone really feels this is an unfair trade that would warrant a VETO trade?

Or is it just a deal that you wouldn't necessarily make but you think the deal is fair enough that it doesn't deserve a VETO?

Team A: trades Cedric Benson & Reggie Brown to Team B

Team B: trades Aaron Rodgers to Team A and then drops Justin Fargas to make room for the extra player he received back in the deal.

Again I am not asking who got better of deal or whether it was even but just curious as to whether this would rise to the level of voting to VETO this deal.

    thanks

  • Fantasy Basketball - head2head or rotisserie standings?

About to start a Fantasy basketball league after taking a break for several years from Basketball.

Which type of league should I try to run?

Is it better for a head to head league or should I just do overall standings based on stats?

  • Need help assigning contracts in keeper league. Who stays for long term deals ?

Joined a football keeper league last year. Had to assign long term deals to your players.

    1 - player with a 4 year deal

    3 - players with 3 year deals

    6 - players with 2 year deals

    8 - players with 1 year deals

Only players with 1 year deals may be cut and replaced but all other players must let contract expire.

Also, two of my players with 1 or 2 year deals can be offered an additional year near the end of the season.

So here is my current team carried over from last year

    Tom Brady - 3 years

    Lendale White - 2 years

    Chris Chambers - 2 years

    Plexico Burress - 2 years

    Shaun Alexander - 1 year

    Jacoby Jones - 1 year

    James Jones - 1 year

    Philly Defense - 1 year

    Ben Watson - 1 year

    Dallas Clark - 1 year

We completed draft over a week ago and my additional players are

    Felix Jones RB Cowboys

    James Hardy WR Bills

    Kenny Watson RB Bengals

    Reggie Williams WR Jaguars

    Cardinals Defense

    Jerome Harrison RB Browns

    Courtney Taylor WR Seattle

    Neil Rackers K Arizona

What one player should get a 4 year deal? Felix Jones?

which three players should get 3 year deals? James Hardy, Courtney Taylor, Reggie Williams

And the three players that get 2 year deals? Kenny Watson, Rackers, Cardinals Defense

man I don't know what to do. Any advice appreciated

  • Where is best place to hear music?

I am looking for a site that has the most compilation of music that I can just listen to instead of downloading. I am just trying to find some new music and want to hear all or at least part of a song.

I like most genres of music so one site with lots of variation would be best but all suggestions welcome

  • What is ideal blind structure for tourney of 25-45 players?

What is best way to figure out the ideal blind structure for a tournament of anywhere from 25-45 players?

    Currently use $2000 to start

10-20, 20-40, 40-80, (1 hr mark - last chance for rebuy take a break color out $10 chips) 50-100, 100-200, 150-300, (color out $25 chips) 200-400, 300-600, 400-800, (color out $100 chips) 500-1000, 1000-2000, I think we keep it at this same level or possibly go to 2000-4000 and keep it at that for all subsequent blind levels.

Our structure seems to work but we have added one or two levels (150-300 & 300-600) to keep it from going too quickly but figured there might be a better structure to use based on number of players.

Anyone have ideas on better structure to use? Pros and cons of structure you use?

    thanks

  • What will be the spread of Pats/Jets game in 2 weeks?

Pats were 24 point favorites over Eagles but barely won.

They come into this weekend as 20 1/2 favorite over Baltimore.

Any guess on the spread for the return match of Pats/Jets? Bellicheck hasn't forgotten about Jets catching them cheating in game 1 this year and will run up the score.

What is your guess on the spread for the game?

  • Need to assign contracts....who should I keep?

First year in a 14 team, dynasty contract league.

    18 players (start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 WR/RB, 1 Def, 1 K, 9 bench)

I must assign contracts to my players.

    4 year deal - 1 player

    3 year deal - 3 players

    2 year deal - 6 players

    1 year deal - 8 players

Anyone with more than 1 year on their contract, can not be cut unless he goes on NFL Injured Reserve. At that point the owner can decide to cut him but can't draft him the following year until after 2nd round. Players with 1 year deals can be cut at any time.

This is the team I ended up with and how long I planned on keeping them.

    Shaun Alexander (2)

    Brady (4)

    Cadillac (2)

    Plaxico (3)

    Chambers (2)

    Lendale White (3)

    Droughns (1)

    Ben Watson (3)

    Dallas Clark (1)

    Jamarcus Russell (1)

    Philly D (1)

    Issac Bruce (1)

Eric Parker (dumped for James Jones) (2)

    Lloyd (1)

Kolby Smith (dumped for JJ Arrington) (1)

    Jacoby Jones (2)

    Buffalo D (2)

    Scobee (1)

Brady's lock at 4 but I keep going back and forth on my 2 and 3 year players.

  • Who would you grab in a contract league?

First year of new contract league.

14 teams with 18 man rosters

    Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 W/R, 1 TE, 1 Defense, 1 K

9 bench - pretty standard scoring

After the draft we have to assign contracts to players.

    1 - 4 year contract

    3 - 3 year contracts

    6 - 2 year contracts

    8 - 1 year contracts

Anyone more than 1 year deal, can't be cut unless NFL team puts him on IR. If player is dropped, owner is unable to draft him following year until after second round.

I had 9th pick and ended up with a team of Alexander (1) Brady (2) Cadillac (3) Plexico (4) Chambers (5) Lendale White (6) Droughns (7) Ben Watson (8) Dallas Clark (9) Jamarcus Russell (10) Philly Defense (11) Issac Bruce (12) Eric Parker (13) Brandon Lloyd (14) Kolby Smith (15) Jacoby Jones (16) Buffalo Defense (17) Josh Scobee (18)

For now I am only dropping Parker and grabbing another WR. Available guys - Wilford, Toomer, Roddy White, Moulds, Demetrius WIlliams, James Jones (like him best)
