  • Zoology vs Biology vs... Anthropology?

If zoology is the structure, function, behavior and evolution of animals (according to wikipedia), and anthropology is more in line with human culture and development, and I am assuming biology is an overarching umbrella for everything meaty, bloody, and humor-laden, is there a comparable term to zoology, but for humans? ie, "the structure, function, behavior and evolution of humans"?

If you're viewing zoology as, say, animal veterinary science, is there a parallel word for human biological science?

I'm sure I'm not using these terms correctly, so if there is a more specific or appropriate term I should be using, or definition to follow, please let me know.

  • What are "Girl Drinks"?

I know the stereotype of a girl-drink: fruity, sugary, sweet, tiny umbrella, glitter. But I don't really know what drinks are considered "girly" - can anyone offer the names of a few, or where I can see a list online somewhere?

  • My desktop Spacebar is wonky.?

I popped off my desktop spacebar to clean between some of my keys, and put it back on - correctly, I thought. Now, when I push it, it resists more before being pressed and "snaps" more, makes a lot more noise, and generally seems like the fit back isn't quite right. I don't like having my spacebar make this big thumping noise when I press/release it, when the rest of my keys have just the basic click-noise. "Space" works, but something's not right with the bar.

YES, I know keyboards are cheap and I can just buy a new one. I like the one I have, I don't want to buy a new one, I just want to fix the one I have properly.

  • How much money does a staffing company make on top of their employee's rate?

What is considered the industry norm for staffing company to charge? If I'm making 10$ or 20$ an hour, what is the staffing company charging?

If I'm paying the staffing company 50$ an hour, how much of that is the contractor getting?

Does anyone know the specific ratios for the different companies (Manpower, Kelly, etc), or where to find them?

  • Encourage moderation and consideration in extreme views?

Over the last decade, my father has become increasingly enamored with certain political pundits. However, he is more and more reluctant to even consider other viewpoints, choosing instead to dismiss anything and anyone else as "biased media". I have listened to the shows he prefers, and they bother me greatly, not necessarily due to their political orientation but because they are so violently self-righteous, intolerant, and dismissive.

Unfortunately, my father, as the years go on, has taken their example to heart and now in conversation with him, whether over a vacation, over bills, over how something should or should not be done, he seems to adopt these same debate "tactics" - he is increasingly difficult to talk to, to connect with, or just to tolerate.

I watch him watching these shows, getting caught up in their vitriol and venom, and it makes me sad. I don't really care what his political views are, but I want him to have the presence of mind to consider other perspectives, or at least be able to disagree with someone without being disagreeable himself.

I've tried encouraging him to moderates, tried sitting down and talking with him about his behaviour (and his "idols"), tried asking him to turn the channel when I'm present, and nothing seems to temper him. This isn't the sort of intolerance and aggression he raised me to accept, and it is difficult for me to see him embracing it now.
