I have an APC UPS ES-500.

When I turned it on, it made a click, then after awhile, it gave off a long beep with the LED light blinking green twice per second. There are only four devices plugged into it: the printer, speakers, monitor and System unit. I have had it for over a year and 2-3 months now so my warranty is out.

I tried taking out all the devices and it was ok. No beeping. It was just fine. But when I plugged all of it, it starts again.

Does anyone know what the trouble is?

I started my PC this morning and got this message: enter password to unlock the system

I was the one who set up my computer, reformatted it a year ago, and I don't recall ever placing in a password at all. And I was using my PC last night and everything was fine. This message only showed up now. I tried to restart my PC but the message is still there.

I also notice that while this message shows, my PC makes noises. Like a whirring sound of the Fan I guess, like my PC is being worked up to its maximum usage.

I really want to know how I can fix this thing and not lose any of my data. Is there a solution to this? I also want to know why this happened in the firstplace. It's like out of the blue. Please and thank you.

I'm using mozilla firefox on my eeepc (linux) and there are times that when I visit some sites (these are trusted sites by the way) my mozilla just shuts down leaving me to start all over again. Can somebody tell me what is wrong with that? Is my mozilla firefox the problem or the websites I'm visiting? It usually happens when I visit inquirer.net and philstar.com - two news sites.

My wallpaper+start menu+task bar+desktop icons disappeared when I rebooted my Toshiba laptop. I tried restarting it again but it always gives me this one folder (My Documents) and everything else just disappeared. My files are still there. Just the ones mentioned above. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? (Operating System is Windows Vista)

Ok, so i changed my essay into wingdings font just to test how it looked like. Then I was called to answer the phone and saved my work and closed ms word 2007. When I opened it back, of course it was on wingdings. then when i changed it to Arial, it became empty square boxes. it wouldn't change back. eventhough i used different font types like tnr. Help?

Ok, I actually know how to cancel a friendster account. Its the aftermath I wanted to know.

I canceled my friendster account, then i had to fill up some forms such as my email address and password, reasons why i cancel and then a checkbox that says yes, i want to cancel my friendster account. Then after that, it says, your account has been canceled.

My question is, does friendster send me a message telling me that (for example) "You have just canceled your account"?

If somebody out there has canceled their account on friendster before, was there any more things i needed to do after that? thank you

I've been uploading my video for the nth time already and it won't upload. i don't know what's wrong.

screen size - 320x240

video file size - 89 mb (youtube says not to go over 100 mb)

video file format - .avi

it would upload the video and when i come to check it after an hour or so, it just freezes. sometimes it freezes on 44% sometimes on 3%. It's getting on my nerves now. i already compressed it a lot of times and the quality's not that good anymore (from 700 mb to 200 mb to 89mb). can anybody help me?

Ok so back when i was 16 years old i reformatted my computer. that was the first time i tried reformatting it. (take note i only had drive c then. there was no partition) After that i was exploring the new drive c (still no partition) and found a folder which contained ALL of my files.

Can i do this again? I forgot how to do that before. my friend said maybe i didn't reformat the drive. maybe he was right. But how come all the applications i've installed were gone but the files were there? how can i do that again. there's a virus on my computer and it's okay for me to reformat. I just need to save some important pictures and it really means a lot to the family if i retrieve it. Just the pics. Its been 2 years since i did that and i totally forgot.

I'm planning on making a video documentary about "keeping love real" and i don't know how to portray this. I don't really understand the concept on how to make a good documentary. this documentary is for teens showing them that love doesn't mean having sex or giving sex and all that stuff. Literally, keeping love real
