  • My nose stud fell halfway out in the night?

Last night when I was sleeping I dreamed that my nose stud fell out twice, and when I woke up it was halfway out of my nose. I think it's an L-shaped stud so it just came out up to the bend in the stud ad the rest stayed in my nose. I used saline solution to clean the area and then I pushed the stud back in but it really hurt and then my nose started bleeding a bit. I only got it pierced 6 days ago so I'm worried I might have damaged it more or something or made the hole bigger by not pushing in the stud very well.

What should I do? Is it normal for it to bleed when a stud is being pushed back into a new piercing? Should I go back to the place I got it pierced and ask about it?

  • What is the background music in this youtube video (stilababe09)?

I was watching this video by stilababe09 and I really liked the background song but I couldn't find it anywhere on the internet. This is the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5o2UFuqjjr0#t=52

I assume it's just some copyright-free music she found, but it has lyrics so I thought maybe it was a real song. But I typed the lyrics into the internet and I couldn't find anything.

The bits of lyrics I could hear were "and you lift me up once more back onto my feet off the floor... I think I've found my missing piece... yes I've been looking with all my mind/ for something out there.."

Does anyone know what song this is? Thanks :)

  • What is this book about rats called?

I read a book about six or seven years ago which I want to read but can't find.

It was about a girl who I think lived in Australia who had a pet rat, and so did a lot of people in her school. They were allowed to bring their pets to school until lots of people got food poisoning and they thought it was because of the rat. This evil woman came and told them that they could still bring their pets in but they would have to put them in the big school vet or something until the end of the day, but the main girl kept her rat with her anyway, hiding it in her jumper.

Eventually she and her dad end up following the woman to some kind of big factory or something, which I think was an animal testing factory. It turns out that her rat, as well as a lot of people at that school's rats, had escaped from this factory and been sold by the local pet shop, but now they are trying to get them back. It all ends happily and the animal testers are exposed etc.

I'm pretty sure the book was called "rats!", but there are a lot of books called rats so I can't find this one. The cover was red and yellow with a photograph of two girls on the front and probably a rat as well.

Does anybody know where I can find this book?

  • What is this book about cats called?

I read this book probably about five years ago. It's a children's book about this girl who is supposed to be going to some sort of club, maybe dance, but accidentally walks into the wrong room and ends up going to a group about cats. It's run by this woman who is a bit odd and basically they seem to practice balancing like a cat and other things like that, although I can't remember too much about that bit.

The girl also has a younger brother who suffers from some sort of muscular illness, and they can't find a medicine that will work until suddenly they find this one called "panacea". But when the girl researches it she finds that the guy making it is evil or something like that and he's killing big cats to get what he needs for the medicine. The girl wants her brother to stop taking it after she reads that, so she hides all the bottles. Her parents and brother get really upset because they can't understand why she wouldn't want her brother to get better.

Anyway, it turns out that the guy making this medicine is the estranged son of the odd woman running the cat group, and that she is trying to train all these children attending so that they can go and stop the son from making the medicine. They eventually end up going to where it is made and confronting him, I think. It turns out that the reason he hates cats (and his mother) is because years ago, when he was a little boy, she took him to this safari place and he put his arm through the wire to stroke a tiger or something, and it bit his arm. Due to this, one of his arms is really shrivelled up and small, because it stopped growing after that.

Anyway I think in the end it turns out that the medicine isn't actually made from cats and it all ends happily, although I can't remember completely.

The cover was brown with a night scene of some buildings and a shadow of a cat with an arched back in front of them.

I have tried literally every search on google I can think of to find this book, but I haven't found it yet. Please could somebody help? Thanks.

  • "Aber ich mag" or "aber mag ich"?

I know that aber doesn't invert the verb, but would it be "aber mag ich" instead of "aber ich mag" anyway because the verb has to be the second idea? This is at the beginning of a sentence.

  • Does this sentence in German make sense?

I thought I already posted this but it's not showing up, so I guess I'll just post it again...

Does this German sentence make sense?

"Letzten Wochenende wollte ich Pretty Little Liars sehen, aber könnte ich nicht weil ich meine Hausaufgaben machen musste. "

How would you say "as good as it looks" in French, i.e. "I hope it is as good as it looks"? I am talking about New York and going on holiday there.

  • What is this book and film called?

I think it is a children's/teenager's book, but I'm not sure. I read it when I was about ten or eleven.

It's about a girl called Hope whose mother is abusive; she calls her names most of the time such as "hopeless". She has an older brother called Tyler, I think.

She studies the Holocaust at school and becomes interested in it, and for her school project she shaves all her hair off and draws a number on her arm as a fake "tattoo" like victims of the Holocaust would have had. She watches a film in class about a man whose wife is not Jewish, but he is. He and his son get taken to a concentration camp but his wife doesn't. He makes it into a game for his son by scoring him points for keeping quiet when they're on the transit train etc and basically making sure he doesn't die. Apparently this film is real? If so I'd like to know what it's called :)

Anyway, so in the book, Hope decides to use the point scoring system for herself. For example, every time her mother calls her "hopeless" she gets five points. Her aim is to get to three hundred points I think.

She sees a pair of snow boots in a secondhand shop window and wants to buy them, but she can't, so she works at the shop and makes friends with the two women who own it so that she can earn enough money to pay for them. Eventually she does, and I think she buys a ski jacket too.

She looks forward to going on school camp for the whole video, and at the end she finally does. She talks about how she drinks milk and it has little frozen bits in it.

That's basically what the book is about, at the end it all resolves itself and her mother says she is going to get counselling.

Hope also has numbers she likes or dislikes for various reasons. For example her favourite number is 6, because it looks like it's going to be a neverending loop, but then there's a way out. Her worst number is 0, because there is no escape.

The person who leads her group when she goes on school camp is called Gabriela something-or-other, and I think she might play basketball or something?

These are basically all the details I can remember about it... It's a really good book so if anyone knows the name of it and also the film that's mentioned in it I would be grateful :)

    Thanks!

  • What are some typical American foods?

What are some typical American foods? I mean like branded foods on the shelf, e.g. twinkies or poptarts or something.

I know this doesn't exactly belong in this section but I figured there would be American teens here.

    Thanks!

  • How to throw a typical "American High School" party?

For my 15th birthday I am throwing an "american high school" party. What food shall I serve? So far I have:

    -pizza, obviously

-peanut butter and (vegetarian) jelly sandwiches

    -marshmallow fluff

-eating ice cream out of the tub

    -cookie dough

-lots of american sweets because i live fairly close to an american sweet shop

-i am also going to buy american cereals and serve them in the morning (it is a sleepover)

The majority of us are vegetarian so the foods have to be vegetarian.

It isn't going to be a massive party, just me and about eight or nine others, we're all girls. We are going to come as the different cliques.

Also, what are some typical American things we can do at the party? What are some activites we can do for a a typical "American High School Girl" party and sleepover?

    Thanks!

  • What colour should I dip-dye my hair?

I have sort of strawberry blonde/ light brown/ dark blonde/ cinnamon coloured hair (no one can decide). It looks sort of like this but perhaps a tiny bit darker. But this is basically my hair colour http://www.couturecolour.com/shop/luxeblend-creme-... (click on model not product).

I am planning to dip dye it rainbow colours in the summer holidays. But I'm not sure what colour.

I am either going to do pink, purple and red, or more mermaid/sea-y colours like blue, green and purple.

I was going to do the pink one, but then I chalked the ends of my hair turquoise and it didn't look too bad.

Here is a picture of what it might look like if I went for the pink/red/purple dye: http://www.haircolorsideas.com/bright-hair-colors/...

Here's a picture of the colours I would dye it for a blue/mermaid-y dye. I know it's all over the hair in this picture but I couldn't find one which showed the colours I wanted in a dip dye. Imagine it's dip dyed: http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?hl=en&gbv=2&biw=128...

So yeah... which colours do you think I should dye my hair? :3

  • How to do my hair like this?

    http://www.haircolorsideas.com/bright-hair-colors/...

I love this hairstyle. I am planning to dip dye my hair like this in the summer but I would like to know how to do the actual plait/fishtail braid which goes round the head like this and uses other sections of hair. Does anybody know how to do this?

    Thanks.

  • How much money will I need for two weeks in NYC?

I was wondering how much money I will need for spending two weeks in NYC.

I have already worked out the cost of flights and a hotel, and I found out that the subway is $2 per ride. I was thinking of taking £500 (not sure what that is in dollars) to spend for souvenirs, clothes, sweets and other foods that I can't get in the UK, and I'm not sure if it will be enough to cover attractions as well, for example I definitely want to go to the Empire State Building. I will also do free things though, like Central Park and the Staten Island Ferry.

I am actualy going in 4 years, when I finish school, so I will be 18 which I don't think is old enough to drink in America.

I'm going with a few friends and we'll probably just buy a box of cereal and eat it in our room for breakfast. I found a cheap hotel which is good and in a great place but doesn't serve breakfast, or any other meal.

I don't mind eating fast food from McDonald's or Subway or wherever, but I am a vegetarian so my options are more limited. I think we will want to go to a proper restaurant at least once if not more, considering my friends do not approve at all of fast food and I'll probably be the only one eating it ;)

So basically my question is, minus the spending money, hotel and flights, how much do you think I will need per day for food, attractions and transport?

I know it's a long time away, but I'm definitely going and I want to know how much I will have to save up in the next four years!

    Thanks :)
