  • Chronic Phantom pain, with no loss of limb or any other body part(s)?

This began after surgery to remove caked blood that leaked in the brain (medulla) and caused pressure on the nerves. The pressure itself caused some paralysis of motor muscles and other body functions but this was relieved with the operation. Almost a year after the operation there is partial recovery of muscle control, but the pain is constant, especially in the legs. There is great tension in the shoulders and still a loss of feeling in one arm, although it does work.

Various medications have been tried, but none work very well and all have side effects. Sometimes the side effects are worse than the problem.

Doctors say recovery is two years after surgery, but there will not likely be a full recovery, and the pain is common with this.

How to deal with the phantom pain without medication?
