  • How to get rid of 'banana rolls'?

I have a double crease on my bum, called 'banana rolls' but I'm extremely skinny, I weigh about 47kg and am about 5ft 2 and have always had problems with gaining weight because of my fast metabolism but I seem to have a double crease on my bum? Is this due to fat or because I'm too skinny? I've looked up some pictures of banana rolls and they all seem to have an extra crease below the normal bum crease but mine seems to have an extra crease above the normal crease? How can I get rid of it and why is it there? Thanks :)

  • Do I have a virus? Help!?

I was on this site to download a mark scheme "thepaperbank.co.uk" and loads of adverts and pages were playing and my firefox crashed because of this site, windows closed firefox for me to "protect my computer data" so I was worried in case I had a virus. I have AVG the free edition on my computer so I started a whole computer scan which usually takes around an hour or so, it finished in less than a second and said I had no infections but I'm worried that I do have a virus and it has stopped AVG from working properly...

Has this happened to anyone before? Do I have a virus? What should I do?

  • Should I take Spanish A level?

I am wondering whether I should consider taking A level Spanish in these circumstances:

I am fluent in the language and when I go to Spain most people think I am Spanish, because I lived there for a while and obviously had to learn the language and I picked up a Spanish accent.

As I no longer live there I am forgetting Spanish already, even though I try and remain in contact with my friends there and sometimes visit them. I went to a Spanish school so my spanish writing is also at a high level, but this has been harder to keep up with.

In my school they don't offer Spanish classes, but I would be able to sit the exam there, I was wondering if it would be a good idea for me to try and do the exam learning the material by myself or with a friend with occassional help from a teacher who can speak spanish at the school.

I did the Spanish GCSE and I got an A* without even knowing what was in the course, let alone revising, so I am hoping that the A level will be easy!

I will also be taking Maths, Further Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Philosophy and Ethics, will I be able to cope with Spanish? (I am doing Maths and Further Maths because I am able to complete the Maths A level in a year, instead of two.)

    Thankyou!

  • My "First" Period?! Help!?

Ok so I've had my period once before, around April last year, so a while ago now, and it only lasted 2 days and it was extremely light, it only stained my knickers a little. So I'm 16 and yesterday I went to the toilet and I saw a brown stain in my pants, and when i cleaned myself after using the toilet, there was more blood.

I put on a pad and within 2-3 hours it was all brown and red and moist, it is really uncomfortable! I put on a new pad overnight and in the morning it was covered, I put one on when i got up and withing 2-3 hours it was covered again. Is this quite a heavy period? I don't really have any cramps, just maybe slight discomfort but not really bad cramps, is this normal? Will I be getting my period regularly from now on?

Also I want to start using tampons as Pads are really icky and messy, what size tampons and what make do you recommend? I asked my Mum to buy me some and she said that they aren't good for you and they are really uncomfortable and that I should stick to pads, but I want to try tampons to see if they work better, it's really disgusting when there is blood everywhere!!

Thanks, if you have any tips I would appreciate them!

  • Family trouble..? Please answer!?

I have always had problems at home with my parents fighting, my mum hitting us, argueing with my brother, etc, so I have never had a "happy" family. In the last year I have completely fallen out with my older brother who is 20, basically because i have had enough of his sh*t, he used to hit me and my younger siblings even though he is an adult and he has always treated us like garbage. So I had enough and I completely ignore and avoid him, this is how I want it to be when we get older as well, I don't really want a relationship with him and the sooner I don't have to see him the better. I get along with my sister really well, she has a big temper though and recently she has been quite depressed, we recently moved and she can't see her old friends anymore and she gets really upset.

I don't get along that well with my parents but I wouldn't say that my life is always hell, my dad is someone who I would like to look up to but I can't. He is really clever, he went to campbridge and in school they put him up a year cos he found everything too easy, but he is now unemployed and doesn't seem to be doing much to find a job again. My parents are constantly fighting but I don't think they will get a divorce because my mum is very religious. All that keeps me going is knowing that one day I will move out and go to Uni, I have high exppectations, I want to work hard and become a doctor, I have money that my Grandma left me and an lovely Aunty who is fairly wealthy, I know that I can't rely on my parents for financial support. I feel like I don't want to have much to do with my family when I grow up, there is nothing happy or good about them. Their failure has made me want to be succesfull, all I know is that when I am older I want to be nothing like them, I can't wait to move out but I still have 2 more years or so... Is this wrong to think like this? What advice can you give me? Thanks in advance.

  • Dog and Rabbit problems!? Help!?

Ok, so we got a new labrador puppy about 8 months ago now and we never really introduced her properly to my rabbit because she would get so excited and lively around him so we figured she would probably end up hurting him, although the pet shop where we bought the rabbit a hutch said that it would be better if we introduced them and the puppy would be fine. My dad is really cautious and scared that my dog might accidently bite him or something. I really want to introduce them properly because everytime I go outside to look at my rabbit I have to lock my dog inside and she gets upset and she sometimes tries biting the hutch.

Today and yesterday I was holding the rabbit and my dog would jump up trying to nip him fur but when I sat down with the rabbit she would just lick his fur and eat it!? Is that a good or a bad sign? How do I get her to calm down when my rabbit is around and how to I introduce them properly? Thanks in advance.

  • Should I bathe my dog?

My puppy is 9 months old now, and she hasnt had a bath since we first got her, when she was around 8 weeks old. She doesn't stink but she doesn't particularly smell that good either. My dad thinks it willl be really bad for her and dry out her skin so we shouldn't do it but I think it would be good for her and also get her used to being bathed before she is an adult. What do you think? Thanks

  • Is Projects Abroad worth it?

Hi, I'm nearly 16 and next summer I wanted to go abroad and volunteer somewhere. At first I didn't think it was possible as I would only be 16, but I came across Projects Abroad, which offer 2 week trips to various locations specially designed for teenagers in full time education from the age of 16-19.

Another bonus of these courses was that you could volunteer in an area that you were interested in, such as photography, law, cooking, medicine... This seemed great because I want to study medicine and this would give me a valuable experience, and probably show my commitment to medicine at an early stage. There are different locations that offer the medicine course, Mongolia, Nepal, Argentina and India. I'm not really sure which one I would choose but I quite liked the idea of going to Nepal.

This would cost around £1000 without including the flight costs, which on the website the cost for the flights is about £700. This seems like a lot of money to spend on a 2 week trip but it also seems like a great opportunity. Is this really worth it? Are there any other companies that do this sort of thing for 16 year olds? How could I raise this amount of money (Not all of it, but some) Thanyou!

  • My ankle is swollen and hurts!?

Hi, my ankle has been hurting for like a week and a half and i cant really remember any accident happening that caused it to hurt, at first i thought it might just be a bruise but no bruise appeared and it started to swell above the bone that sticks out a bit on your outer ankle, it is still a bit puffy and swollen and it hurts when i tense my foot, walk(only a bit), touch the swollen area, and when i lean all my weight on it it feels like it is going to give way, it was getting better but yesterday i had PE and it started to really hurt again, what do you think is wrong with it??

Is it a sprain, I rang up my GP and they said to go to casualty but I dont think it is that serious, its just getting a pain and after sports it gets a lot worse!

Should I take her to the vet to get it pulled ou? how much would this cost?

  • How much would it cost to study medicine in the UK?

How much would it cost to study medicine overall in the UK? I mean with living costs as well (accommodation, food, etc). To study in a university like Oxford or Edinburgh, what would be the sort of price I would have to pay for the pre clinical and clinical stages of the course. I have heard in some places that you get paid at the clinical stage, is this true? if so, how much do you get paid?

Would I be looking at about £6K per year, so overall about £30K for the full five years?

    Thankyou!

  • Could I get into Oxford University?

My dream has been to study medicine in oxford since forever, I am currently taking my GCSE exams and I am predicted all A's and A*'s. I want to take chemistry, biology, maths and spanish at A level and hopefully achieve A's in all of them.

I am not from a well off family and go to a state school with a good reputation in the north east, but I could afford to go to university without any sort of student loans or financial support. I don't do any extra curricular activities, I played the violin since I was about 5 but stopped about a year ago because I didn't enjoy it anymore but I want to start learning the piano. I am doing some volunteering at a care home in summer.

I wanted to know if I should even be thinking about Oxford University as I know I am up against many extremely intelligent students that are probably from better off families and that all go to private schools, but I love learning and resolving problems, sometimes a bit too much!

My parents say I could get in, my dad went to Cambridge but obviously they would say that just because they are my parents!

My dream is to attend Oxford and study medicine as I have always been interested in biology and how the human body works. I also love caring and helping people. If I couldn't get into Oxford, what other universities should I be looking at to study medicine (I've thought about Edinburgh) and I would really like opinions on studying at Oxford from a student there and what it is like to do so.

After applying you have to go through an interview that most people say is really scary and tests your capability, if anyone has been to one of these interviews, please share your experience!

I have read in some places that the people are rich and posh but there is also really nice people there, I want to know what people are really like and if there are just normal girls that I would fit in with.

Also what colleges would be good to consider. I know it's early days but I have always wanted to study there and get excited just thinking about! I don't want to get disappointed by then getting rejected after spending years dreaming of it.

This is quite a long question but I would really like people who have experience in this field to help! Thank you!
