So today we went to buy some food for our 9 year old poodle mix. She has not been on senior food but Merrick ALS Audult food and has been doing fine on that. An employee convinced us to switch to Merrick Senior Formula. So what is the difference between ALS (which is supposed to include senior formulas) and just the regular senior formula? Also, the employee recommended a new brand on the market called "Lotus". She gave us some free samples of them. They have pretty good ingredients (The first five are Chicken, Whole Ground Rye, Whole Ground Brown Rice, Ground Barley, and Pollock) and she said the senior formula is very healthy for senior dogs. It is supposed to help keep senior dogs going and help out their muscles. We took the samples home and gave them to our dog, she seems to like it. We are going to be feeding Merrick Wet Food still, but we are going to be gradually adding Lotus to the dry food, and eventually switch to that. Does Lotus seem like a good brand? Has anyone seen any improvement from this food? Does what we're doing seem like a good idea?

My friend recieved a 6 week old puppy for valentine's day. It is a maltese by the way. I already told her that the puppy was too young to have been taken away from it's mother and that could cause some serious problems. Im not sure if she knows how to feed it properly either. I have been giving her some suggestions and helping her in ways that I can, but she can be stubborn sometimes and doesnt listen to me. Is there anything I can tell/show her what she is dealing with? I want to do that in the NICEST way possible, and show that I am happy for her. I also would like the puppy to be happy and healthy. Any tips that you can give? Thanks in advance

A guy is driving around the back woods of Tennessee and he sees a sign in front of a broken down shanty-style house: 'Talking Dog For Sale .'

He rings the bell and the owner appears and tells him the dog is in the backyard.

recently, there has been some bad energy in our hosue, and everyone is depressed. I am noticing that my dog is hiding in corners, or where she feels almost hidden. She is not running away from anybody or anything. Is it possible she got depressed too because of us? I dont know what I should do to make her feel better. Whats going on?
