  • How can I make my website visible to the internet?

When I enter my (external) IP in the browser, it takes me to my router's public menu. I want it to take me to the same place as my computer's internal IP (which is already static)

  • Does anybody know a treatment to recover from ciprofloxacin?

I had never had any tendon or joint problem in my life; neither had I had a urinary infection. I had my first UTI at age 33. My doctor gave me ciprofloxacin. The UTI disappeared quickly, but 3 days after starting the treatment, I started having pain in all my tendons, which became hard and lost flexibility and even heartache. At the end of the treatment, some ten days later, I was barely able to walk. I recovered to the point of being able to do my life rather normally about a month after, but it's been over a year already and often get severe pain in all my tendons and also the heartache. It comes in "attacks" that last about a week and are separated by about a month. When I'm not in one of these "attacks", I have moderate pain, especially when writing or using the computer mouse, as well as using a staircase. Doctors don't seem to know anything about this antibiotic. Anyone had a similar problem and solved it?

  • How can I play old DOS multiplayer games over the internet?

I have some old games such as Duke Nukem 3D, Descent and WarCraft II. I am a DOS and Linux user, no Windows. Is there any way I can simulate an IPX network over the Internet to play these games? Does there have to be a third party server on can I use my own computer as a server for it too? (I'd like to avoid third-party applications, as you have to pay for playing and usually run only under Windows)

  • How does Dolby 3D (passive filters) work?

How come Dolby 3D glasses have colour filters and still you can see the colours properly during the film? If this is because the colouration is so faint, then how come this helps at all? Does this technology also involve light polarisation as well as the filters?

  • What is the square root of "i"? Is this a paradox?

I was thinking of the following, which makes sqrt(i) seem to be a paradox. I know that I'm cheating with my reasoning, but I though it'd be nice to share it. Still, I would like to know what the real value is and how that is explained. Now look at this and tell me what you think:

    Let i, so i²=-1, then sqrt(-1)=i

    Now, i³=i * i² = i * (-1) = -i ... and (-i)³=(-1)³ * i³=(-1)*(-i)=i

    Then sqrt(i)=sqrt((-i)³)=sqrt((-i)*(-i)²)=sqrt(-i)*i=sqrt(-1)*sqrt(i)*i=i*i*sqrt(i)=

    =i²*sqrt(i)=(-1)*sqrt(i)

    Let j=sqrt(i), then j=-sqrt(i)=-j, then j=0

    But j²=i=0²=0. Therefore, i²=0=-1!!!

  • Does there have to be an afterlife so that life itself make sense?

Most people have either a religious, physical or metaphysical belief that allows for a way to live after death. Does this mean there is no point in life unless it can somehow extend forever?

  • If time is only our perception, does own death exist at all?

We feel lifetime as a continuous thing and understand it as sequential because of our brain. Even though we can see other's death, our own's should never happen, since we would not be there and the continuous time line would be broken. Or should it?
