Blessed to be a Mama!

My husband and I were married on February 9th, 2008 and a few months after our wedding we became pregnant! The following year I gave birth to a beautiful miracle - Mya, on February 4th, 2009. Hub and I are so blessed to have found each other and had a perfect, healthy daughter. I thought we made a good team before, but I never knew having a child could make us this much closer, and fall this much more in love with each other. Hubby is my other half (he completes me ;)), he's an amazing father to our daughter, teaches me so much, and is so patient with me on my hormonal days! I honestly could not ask for more, and thank God for blessing me with all that I have!! :D :D 8/20/11 We are now pregnant with our 3rd!! #2 was a girl - Kinley! ;)

  • Frozen Tilapia Filets?

I thawed some frozen tilapia filets about a week and a half ago and have had them in my fridge since then, waiting to check and see if I can still use them.

So, question is - How long can they be thawed and still be good? They are in vacuum sealed bags.

  • Terrible sleeper - 10 month old?

Kinley(her name) - the most she has slept is an 8 hour stretch. She usually will sleep a total of 12 hours at night but lately has been waking about every 3 hours. The ONLY thing that gets her back to sleep is nursing. But I just found out I'm pregnant with our 3rd and Kinley gets a lot fussier every time she nurses; maybe my milk tastes different.

    MY QUESTION IS:

How do I get her to sleep longer at night? I'd be ok with one nursing a night, but idealy would like for her to sleep straight through. I am also comfortable with cry it out or Ferber method, just don't really know how to go about doing it in the middle of the night? I do not want to neglect her needs, but she is NOT hungry, and does not take a paci.

  • 6 months old... will NOT sleep!?

My daughter, Kinley, is almost 6 months old and has forgotten how to sleep. She was teething a while back but her tooth is through and it's been a while now so I dont' know if thats it.

She only falls alseep if I'm holding her

Wakes up the second I try to get her in the crib

*DONT JUDGE ME* But we tried the Ferber Method and my heart couldn't handle the crying... she would have cried for hours.

She is nursed *never nursed to sleep*

I dont know what to do to get her to sleep and to stay asleep!

She used to sleep great, would fall asleep on her own to music, in her crib. Now she'll hardly fall asleep in my arms, I've tried everything. She used to be swaddled, sleeps better not being swaddled. She wont take a paci, doesnt have an attachment toy.

  • 5mo baby waking all through the night?

    She's nursed

Wakes up every hour or 2. To nurse but just pacifies herself to sleep. Hubby won't help in middle of night so its just a lot easier to nurse her back to sleep. But this is also becomming tiring!

  • What to wear to wedding?

    I'm 23, married, 2 kids, 5'3'', 140lbs, (just had a baby 3 months ago), and I am currently in a size 5.

I live in MN and its freezing here right now.

I'm going to a wedding on the 12th and want to wear some kind of dress but don't want to show any leg.

Would a sweater dress with leggings and below the knee black boots look cute?? Or should I just wear dress pants?

  • Opinions Please "On Becoming Babywise"?

I have a 4 week old little girl. I don't really know anything about this book, but I was interested in buying it so started some research. I've found a lot of controversy and wondering why. It's also talking about a "Christian Version" ??

    Any ideas?

    Thank you.

  • How can I make sure my baby will take a bottle but not prefer it over nursing?

Baby is 3 weeks. Gave 1/2oz to her for first time in bottle today. She did great.

I really want to make sure she'll consistently take the bottle but not perfer it over nursing or refuse nursing all together.

How often should I give a bottle to make sure she'll keep nursing?

    Any other tips??

    Thanks!

  • Getting 19 month old to sleep in her own bed!?

She slept in her crib, in her own room, through the night from 6 months - 16 months. Then she started getting molars, starting climbing out of the crib and hitting her head - SO I brought her into bed with my husband and I. She is still sleeping in our bed, but we're having another baby in 24 days and we need to get this changed. I love cudding with her, but I miss my husband, and she needs to be in her own bed by the time this baby is here.

Anyone have any ideas, suggestions, methods that work well? She will be in a Full bed, it is our only option, so full bed it is. I think just being consistant will help. She will fall asleep if I lay next to her and pretend like I'm sleeping, but then if she wakes up she freaks out because I'm not there. So she needs to learn to fall asleep on her own.

I was thinking of laying in her bed for a little bit with her, reading a couple books, say a prayer, and then say mommy's going to bed now and walk out of her room. I know I'll hear crying, and she'll get out of bed, and may open the door - so then what?

    Thanks all :)

Just checked them with an hour and a half left and it is like BBQ Soup.

I don't remember it ever being like this.

Should I drain some of it out?

I usually add more BBQ Sauce and leave uncovered for the last 30mins - 1hr

  • Has Anyone Else Used The Ferber Method?

My daughter is 17 months. With traveling and teething this poor little girl got way off in her sleeping schedule so we're starting to try the Ferber Method. I tried yesterday for a nap but she decided to climb out of her crib which we completely thought was impossible. Scared me to death and I thought she had a concussion so Doc said to keep waking her through the night - needless to say we didn't try Ferber Method again that night.

Day 2 - naptime, I have her in the pack n play in her room. I'm pregnant, very hormonal, very tired. Any other tips that helped anyone? I know this will only take a few days, and I know she'll take to it as she has before. I'm just exhausted and need sleep myself and running way out of patience. I love her and know she needs her sleep as well, which is why I'm doing it.

Anyone who's done the Ferber Method, how long did you stay in with him/her inbetween intervals?

    Thanks
