Small stress fracture in heel?
Can a small stress fracture in the heel cause pain to the the rest of the foot? especially when I put pressure on my heel and when I'm laying down? I've had this problem for two months and it hasn't gotten better.. It's actually gotten worse.. I went to two doctors and had xrays that didn't show anything so they said to rest and use Ibeprofen which hasn't worked.
1 AnswerInjuries1 decade agoHow to get rid of love handles?
I am a 19 years old caucasian female, 5'10" and I weigh 140 pounds. I'm at the right weight for my height and age and I'm for the most part happy with my body. I have a flat stomach but the one thing I can't stand is my love handles. They aren't really bad but they are visible over my pants and are bothersome and make it hard to wear tigher shirts without feeling self concisous about myself. Is there a good way that will eventually get rid of these? I go to nursing school full time and work part time so I don't have a whole lot of time to focus on a strict workout regimen. I have started running 3 miles a week (when it gets nicer I'll do more), but is there any workouts or food that can work on these love handles? Any advice would be great! thanks!
4 AnswersDiet & Fitness1 decade agosleep apnea and almost 20 years old?
So I am almost 20 years old, 5'9" and 140 pounds and I think I may have sleep apnea.. I don't snore, just a heavy breather in my sleep, but last August when I was at my friend's house she woke me up in the middle of the night because I was gasping for breath. Then last month I woke up in the middle of the night gasping for breath, the worst feeling ever. Then last night my boyfriend woke me up because he said I stopped breathing three times and then finally I started gasping for breath.. Is this early signs of sleep apnea or something else? Isn't it pretty abnormal for someone my age to have it? LIke I said, I'm not overweight and I'm not snoring. I know I should probably go for a sleep test but I wanted to see if there is anything else it could be. Thanks!

I have golden blonde hair (my natural hair color) right now and I am going to get high lights done on Thursday. I've always been blonde and I am a fair skin person. What high lights should I get? I don't want to appear washed out and I would like to get a couple of differerent colors that are close in shade. I wouldn't mind getting them a little darker but I'm not sure.. any suggestions?
6 AnswersHair1 decade agoPain in arch and heel of my feet (especially right foot)?
So a couple of months ago I noticed a bad pain in my feet (in the arches) when I took my first few steps every morning after getting up. After those steps though it would go away so I didn't think anything of it. But last week I started noticing that pain would happen throughout the day after getting up from sitting (for any amount of time). The pain isn't as bad in the morning but it gets worse as the day goes on. So now in the evening when I stand up the pain shoots up my ankles and I get a sharp pain in the arch of my right foot. It takes a few minutes for this pain to go away but then I will still have a dull pain when I'm sitting or standing at times. It also hurts to stretch my right foot. What could this be? I'm starting nursing school next semester so I'll be on my feet a lot with clinicals and then of course when I'm a nurse so it would be nice to figure this out since things seem to be getting worse and I don't want to have anything wrong with my feet when I'm a nurse.

3 AnswersPain & Pain Management1 decade agoCut on my leg (close to calf) still hurting almost a week later?
So last Tuesday night I fell onto a sharp rusty old spring sticking out of an old mattress and cut my leg (close to my calf). It gave me a nice cut about 2.5 inches long. I've been putting neosporin on it everyday and letting it air and the rest of the cut that was just barely scratched by the spring is healing nicely but the part of the cut where the spring went into my leg is dark red and is red all around that part. It also hurts to put pressure on it and even just to stand on that leg. Is it normal for a cut to still be hurting like this almost a week later? I had my tetanus shot about 4 years ago so I'm fine on that.
1 AnswerInjuries1 decade agoWhat should I use to clean my second ear lobe pierce?
I had my ear lobes double pierced a few years ago at Claire's but after a few weeks the studs went into my lobes when I was sleeping so they got infected and I had to take them out and they closed up. I just went to a tattoo and piercing place today and had them re done and they said just to use non-iodized salt dissolved in warn water to clean them at least once a day. I just did that (dipped a paper towel into the water and salt and put it on my piercing for 5 min like they said) but it feels like that's not enough. I still have the solution that claires gave me a few years ago, would that be safe to put on these instead? These are little hoops so my ears won't swell as much that I leave in for three weeks. Or what should I do to keep these from getting infected? Thanks for any help!

I've been working for a couple hours on this and I'm still stuck. I'm trying to use a quadratic equation on this but I seem to be doing something wrong.. can anybody help?
The hypotenuse of a right triangle is 1 cm more than twice the shorter leg, and the longer leg is 9 cm less than three times the shorter leg. Find the lengths of the three sides of the triangle.
Thanks!

3 AnswersMathematics1 decade agoAnybody ever had a deviated septum?
Ok so my boyfriend has had a deviated septum for about a year now, and for a year his nose has just smelled bad to him and his nasal passageways have been blocked. Then back in August he started getting headaches and nasal pressure which after a few months happened all the time. Then a couple weeks ago the pain in his head and the sinus pressure have slowly been getting worse everyday. And last week two of the mornings when he woke up it hurt so bad he puked. He is getting surgery in nine days to fix his deviated septum, so my question is, has anybody here ever had a deviated septum this bad and had surgery to fix it? How bad did it get for you before surgery, and how was the surgery and recovery? Thanks!
2 AnswersRespiratory Diseases1 decade agoIs my nose fractured?
Ok so last night I leaned over to tell my boyfriend something, but he didn't realize I was right next to his face (he was looking the other way) so he turned his head around real quick to tell me something and so my nose hit him hard in the forehead and we both heard a loud crack coming from my nose. He hit me right on top of my nose where the nasal bone is, and it's been hurting and swollen since (once again, this was last night). At times it hurts to just breath through my nose (my breathing itself is fine), it hurts to try to scrunch up my nose or wiggle it (it's hard to move it anyway), and it stings real bad when I touch the top of my nose and when I bend over I have a lot of pressure on my nasal bone. I also had a little bump where I got hit last night and it's still there along with swelling and a little purpleness under my eyes. I don't see any major deformities in my nose although my boyfriend thinks it's starting to look a little crooked. Could it be fractured or just bruised? Would that crack that we both heard from my nose be a good indicator that I broke it or could the crack be from something else? What should I do? Thanks!
2 AnswersInjuries1 decade agoStraight Talk cell phones?
I currently have virgin mobile and I've had it for the past few years but I don't like the service or the quality of the phones. I've been looking into Straight Talk and I really like the pre-paid $45 a month for unlimited everything. My question is, how are the phones and the service they get? Do the phones work well and last a long time (unlike virgin mobiles)? I live out in a rural area so I want to get service with this and I heard it's through Verizon and they get great service where I live. The map on Straight Talk's website says I'll get service but I'm still not sure. Anybody know how service is with this? Any other info would be great! Thanks!
2 AnswersCell Phones & Plans1 decade agoWhat's wrong with his head?
My boyfriend has had a blocked up nose since the beginning of the year and his doctor said he would need surgery to drain his nose since it was so bad (everything smells weird to him and he always sounds stuffed up). His nose is still like that and he hasn't had the surgery yet. Then a couple of months ago he started getting a headache which he still has and has been getting progressively worse. Last month he went to the doctors since the pain was so bad and they said the headache was from his nose (that it was just a sinus infection) and gave him a couple of different antibiotics in the past month. Neither of them really worked for him, and no pain killers are working. Then yesterday he told me that the past few days his headache has been becoming steadily worse over the past few days. He also has been more irritable since the headache started and occasionally he said his right hand will go numb. He hasn't had any problems other than that, but this morning he woke up puking. Could this still just be the sinus infection or could there be something else wrong? I'm trying to get him to go back to the doctor and get a cat scan this time. Any opinions would be great. Thanks!

1 AnswerOther - Diseases1 decade agoWhat to get my boyfriend for his 19th bday next month?
Ok so my boyfriend is turning 19 next month and he said that he wanted me to surprise him when I asked what he wanted for his bday. So now I have no idea what to get him. He has netflix and a bunch of other movies so a movie is pretty much out. He also has a lot of the oldies music so I don't know what he does and doesn't have. He had originally asked for the Beastie Boys Top Hits but now he'd rather it be a surprise. Any ideas at all? He isn't really into watching sports, if anything football, he's a Bears fan, but not die-hard or anything. He likes comedians and the Simpsons. He spent 25 bucks on me for my bday so I'll spend around that, if not a little more. Any ideas would be much appreciated. thanks!! :D

1 AnswerHigher Education (University +)1 decade agoAny ideas as to what I should do if nursing doesn't work?
So I'm a freshman in college, currently going to a community college two get my gen ed's in two years, and then nursing school for another two years after that. If, for some reason, nursing doesn't work out for me because I struggle with the science area, I'd like to go into something in the English field as English is my strong point. I love writing and all that, yet I don't want to sit at a desk everyday. I like interacting with people and being on the move, yet doing something that involves English stuff. Any ideas? Teaching is out of the question I don't want to do any of that. I'd also like to do something that doesn't require more than four years of school. Thanks to any suggestions! I would just like to have a back-up plan. lol
