Can I get an 'A' grade doing a GCSE foundation paper??
Hi there - I am studying the Edexcel GCSE Geography B exam board.
There are four units in total and for one of those I will be doing the Foundation Paper...
I got excellent marks in my mocks! From my mock results could you please tell me if I would of got a A if this was the real exam, bearing In mind Unit 1 was a foundation paper.
Here are my mock results:
Unit 1 - FOUNDATION PAPER - Dynamic Planet - 74% - C
Unit 2 - Higher Paper - People and the Planet - 69% - A
Unit 3 - Higher Paper - Decision Making - 84% - A
Unit 4 - Controlled Assessment - 92% - A*
The mock papers were the June 2014 boundaries
Could someone please tell me if this would equal an A overall?
All of the units are equal weighting of 25% per unit.

7 AnswersMedia & Journalism8 years agoAre these good alevel choices if i want to become an accountant?
-Accountancy
-BUSINESS studies
-Maths
-economics
I have been told that I should do a variety of subjects. Also that business and accounting are soft subjects when getting a place at university. What do you think? Do I necessarily need alevel accounting to study it at university?

1 AnswerHomework Help8 years agoHelp. I don't know what to choose for GCSE - TEN POINTS?
I would like to be an accountant or work in some kind of banking for example a bank manager. My school doesn't offer much to do with Business. I would like you to tell which ones out of the following I should take and what grade should I be pushing myself to get. I have to choose a humanity as well as a language. Here are my options:
-Geography or History ( I get the same grade usually in both of them so should I take both?)
-French, German or Spanish (Out of all Three i am best at Spanish)
And then I get to choose two of the following of my own:
- Triple science
- The remaining humanity (That would mean that if I took Geography the remaining humanity would be History. Or vice vicer. I am allowed to take both history and geography.) *
- The remaining language (so if I choose spanish the remaining languages would be German and French.) I can only take a maximum of 2 languages.)
- food technology *
- textiles
- resistant materials
- electronics
- Product design
- Graphic design
- level 2 BTEC engineering
- GCSE or BTEC Art *
- music
- BTEC health and social care
- Dance
- Child development
- Human physiology *
- drama
- astronomy *
If it has a star next to it - I enjoy it and I am interested in it.
I have to do the following:
- English
- English literature
- Maths
- Core science - I get two gcses so triple science is an extra one.
- ICT
- PE (GCSE or BTEC)
- Social ethics
Remember I want to be some kind of accountant or work in banking or finance. I can't decide what to choose so instead of you saying it's up to me please give me your recommendations as to which subjects I should choose. Ten points couldn't be easier!! I live in the UK.
Please answer my brother's question which is on my other questions as he doesn't know what to choose for a level.
If you've answered this particular question before don't answer again as I am trying to hear from a load of different people.
1 AnswerPrimary & Secondary Education8 years agoWhat alevels should i choose in order for me to study accountancy and finance at The University of East Anglia?
I have looked on the university`s website but I can't seem to find what alevel requirement subjects they want.
I am considering taking the following:
-Accountancy
-Maths
-Business studies
-Economics.
Or should I choose other subjects such as a language (i took Spanish for GCSE and got a Grade C), a science or humanity? I don't particularly want to take further maths or BTEC financial studies.
I don't want to change my job aim that is why I kind of want them to relate to accountancy.
Thanks, in advance. :-)
