Married to a workoholic? Seeking advice from other in the same situation.?
HB has always been a hard worker. I am so frustrated now, but feel like I am being selfish for asking for more time. When I approach the subject, he says don't you like our life, granite we live a very moderate life, but I am a teacher and he makes 3 times my puny salary. It makes me feel like he has to work this hard to suffice for my lack of financial support. Over the past month he has only been home 7 days, all others has been on business trips all over the country while I am stuck here home all alone. When he is home he is exhausted and does not want to do anything and I am ready to go anywhere! Out of those 7 days 2 of those days he literally worked a 40 hour shift non stop (from home) with no sleep! This morning he left for another business trip and was on 2 conf. calls while he was packing to leave. He refuses to tell his company no! We do not have kids and others in his area do so often he takes on there duties instead of delegating. He has worked 70 hrs. this week alone!!
3 AnswersMarriage & Divorce1 decade agoAm I wrong for feeling this way??? How would you react?
My mom threw away ALL the letters and a day planner from when my husband and I were dating. She was on a cleaning sweep at her house and disregarded my feelings. When I approached her about how I feel about what she did, she said that I told you to get your stuff out if you wanted it. OF ALL things the only thing she threw away was these letters. I am the only child who ever lived in the house and I visit her about once a month to stay in what we both considered "your old room". Now I do not even feel welcome in HER HOME as I was told. My mom is poor and 90% of the stuff in there was bought by my husband and I her TV, TV stand, couches, dining table, linens, washer, etc. All were gifts to her from us not to mention right now she has a broken leg and is in a wheelchair and we are paying a sitter $500 a month to stay with her to assure her safety. AND THIS is how I receice thanks from her. My sister says she agrees with mom and it is HER house and can do what she wants in it.
8 AnswersFamily1 decade agoBabysitting for family member that lives a long distance away?
My sister and her husband are going on a trip. She had asked me to babysit for her and I agreed since I am off for the summer. They live 8 hrs. from me and 5 hrs. from the rest of our family. She asked me if I can drive to our families house 4 hrs. from me to pick up the kids, then drive them back a week later. That would be about 16 hrs. driving for me total just to pick them up and return them. I asked her if they could deliver them here (a 16 hr. round trip drive and I could return them to the family an extra 10 hrs. round trip for her to pick them up there) Is it unfair that I am suggesting her to drive 26 hours total vs. me driving 16 hrs total. If I do as she asked, they would still be driving 20 hours total and me driving 16 hours total. I would love for them to come here, but I feel she is being a little ungreatful. I am doing this as a favor to her. What do you think would be a fair solution?
5 AnswersOther - Family & Relationships1 decade agoMen and mid-life crisis. Symptoms and your experience. What age did it occur? Please share your story.?
My HB is in his early 30's and has in the last month went on an extreme vacation (alone, because no one else was stupid enough to spend a great deal of money to risk their life), talks of getting a tattoo, and is discussing buying a sports car. All this from a man that about 2 years ago could go a month without even leaving the house other than to go to work. We have been together 11 years and have been married for 6 yrs.
10 AnswersMarriage & Divorce1 decade agoWhat are some good songs for a Kindergarten graduation picture video?
I am preparing a video of pictures taken throughout the year to show at our Kindergarten graduation program. Any ideas on what songs to play while showing the pictures. (maybe songs about growing up, friends, family, etc.)
13 AnswersPreschool1 decade agoIf a co-worker who has become a friend shows up to work still drunk from the night before what would you do?
This person is a co-worker who has become a friend. What makes this even worse is that she is a teacher. She has never done this before ever and is not an alcoholic, just lost control Ithe night before I suppose. She is a wonderful teacher and cares a great deal about her kids. How would you handle this? And yes, she was still drunk, not just hungover.
