  • Best restaurants near Plymouth, MA?

I'm going to Plymouth, MA for an afternoon whale-watching boat tour. What are some good restaurants in the area for dinner? Anything goes. Just no chains, please!

  • Newbie flying to Boston next month. I've never been. Where should I stay?

I need to know the safest areas and recommendations for some affordable hotels with class. I'm moving to Boston for graduate school in January, so I'd like to stay somewhere on this trip that is accessible to many parts of the city. Then, I'll be more easily able to get the lay of the land and house-hunt. Any ideas where I should stay? Is there a particular area of town or another adjacent town I should look into? What is Back Bay?

  • I make wrap bracelets using silk ribbon. Does anyone know where to get inexpensive 100% silk ribbon?

I need 100% silk ribbon about an inch wide, maybe less or more. I'm doing a series of these wrap bracelets for my shop. I've been to Joann, Hobby Lobby, Walmart fabric dept, and trolled the internet a couple of times. Nada. What I can find right now is ridiculously priced, but it's priced for the masses. For instance, people on art websites are selling silk ribbon that they hand-dyed. It looks great, and godspeed or whatever, but I just want to know where THEY get the ribbon before they dyed it.. Anyone got a clue?

  • How do I make an artistic style multi-bulb fixture?

I want to make a lighting fixture involving a hanging series of low wattage edison bulbs on multiple cords. I want to join the wires together at the top at some point, though, so that the user only plugs in one cord. This is hard to explain, so I've included a link to a photo of a fantastic one I've been admiring. This one has quite a few bulbs on it, but as I am new to lighting, I will probably start with three bulbs for my fixture.

Any advice or helpful links? I'm scared I'll look like that cat in Ntl. Lampoon's Christmas Vacation before this is all over....

  • Cherry Creek, Denver, CO hotels good for tourists?

I'm trying to wrap my head around the layout of the Denver and Boulder, CO areas. I'm very interested in a masters program at the U of C at Boulder, but have never been to Boulder or Denver at all! I'm trying to find a pleasant, "upper-middle," fairly affordable hotel in Denver (or Boulder, but as I fly into Denver, that locale'd probably be best.) I'd like somewhere in or relatively near a really vibrant, cool area that'd give me more of an idea about what the city's like. I see online that Pearl Street and "LoDo" are big hot spots but really have no idea what they are. Can I get an insider's perspective on where to stay and what to check out-I have 3 days and 2 cities to cover!!! And I've been seeing Cherry Creek alot in hotel searches...is this a cool/nice area to stay? What exactly IS Cherry Creek anyway? (besides a body of water-is it a subdivision, independent town, what?)
