  • Trying to remember name of paranormal mystery novel?

A man meets the ghost of a private detective. *SPOILER ALERT* He was killed by a couple who killed a rich old woman to steal her identity. The woman's henchman kept warning her if she betrayed him he'd kill her.

Other than his own murder I don't remember what mystery the men were trying to solve but a side mystery for the ghost was a haunted house inhabited by the disturbed spirit of a girl that killed herself and he helps release her.

The ghost would often say "Someone just walked on my grave". They discover his body in the attic of the rich woman's home. At end the woman does kill her henchmen and goes after the man helping the PI whom they locked in the attic with his body. Her henchmen didn't exactly die but lives long enough to hit the woman over the head with an object and reminds her that he said he'd kill her if she ever turned on him. When she finally makes it up to the attic to kill the man the ghost detective is the only one that sees her because unknown to her she herself is now a ghost and was so set on murder she didn't realize she'd been killed and her body was laying at the foot of the stairs next to her henchmen that finally succumbed to his injuries.

I don't remember how the man and the ghost say their goodbyes but I think the detective let the woman remain a forlorn ghost to haunt that mansion as payback for killing him and he finally lays down onto his dead body and disappears. There may have been a bit more but I just don't remember.

  • About a song from 50's or 60's?

Trying to identify an oldies song from maybe the 50's or 60's about gossiping. It begins with "Grandma Annie & Grampa Danny" then goes on to tell how they were caught with "funny powder and a straw up their nose." The main chorus sounds like, "He said, she said, we said, they said. We know what's going on behind closed doors. Now let me tell you some more."

It goes on about subjects that would have been very controversial at the time like people getting caught "running around with no clothes on", sniffing glue and doing cocaine. Its very humorous and bawdy and probably never made the mainstream and probably was only known as an obscure R&B or blues number. I tried googling the lyrics that I do know and the results were very disappointing.

  • Song About A Time Traveler?

Has anyone ever heard this song? Sometime during the 80's I heard a song on the radio program, Music From the Hearts of Space. It was narrated by man who was describing a relationship with a woman he kept meeting through different times in history. I think it began like a noirish mystery and he was a Sam Spade type of character. The genres kept changing. It ended with him describing a futuristic war or battle of some kind and she was there. It sounded similar to songs like "One Night in Bangkok" and "I Wanna Be a Cowboy", or, at least it reminded me of those songs when I heard it.

  • About people dancing in movies and tv?

Whenever there's a scene that takes place where people are dancing in the background, is there real music playing during the filming or do the extras simply perform the dance moves and act like they hear music? Is the music added during post production? Is it done so that any dialog between the main characters would be easier to record?

  • Where can I find vintage images?

Once was a time whenever I'd want to see vintage images from a certain period all I'd have to do is google image search the era and I'd find a plethora of genuine, unique photos spanning that decade from fashions, vehicles to news items. But now when I try this all that gets returned in the search results are page after page of terribly tacky costumes or modern photos of people duplicating that era or stuff they're trying to sell on ebay. I'm not attempting a product search just looking but now days it seems that google simply wants to sell me stuff.

Are there any sites that have genuine images from different eras, like from the 30's, 40's on up??
