1. In the experiment of determining the focal length of a concave lens (using optical bench).. y is u v/s v graph a parabola? Like we see an inverted,real and same size image of the object needle. This simply means tht object is placed at 2f and image is also formed at 2f. Then u v/s v curve should be a straight line..no??

2. We slide the jockey over rheostat to inc. or dec. the resistance!! does tht sliding affect the thickness of the wire (coil) ?? If it does then wont it affect the observations? And if it doesnt then why is it stated as a precaution in metre bridge exp. tht we hv to slide the jockey gently over the wire so as to prevent thinning?

As we know gases don't hv a surface and catalyst's work is to provide surface area for adsorption of reactants. We hv many processes where gases act as a catalyst like Fischer Speier Esterification where dry HCl gas is used as a catalyst. I want to know how it happens.
