On July 2nd my male dog found a lost female dog. The owners couldn't keep her in their yard and offered her to us. Since we were looking for a dog and my dog liked her we kept her. Turns out she is pregnant. We have an appointment on Monday for her at our vet. Problem. She started nesting. She has totally bipassed stages I am used to looking for. She is farther along than we estimated. We helped her create a whelping box but she has climbed into my service dog's basket that we use when he goes with me into businesses and he is working. Both dogs are in the basket. While she is sleeping he sleeps snuggled to her. When she is having contractions her is licking her neck and she seems to like it. She is shivering which is part of labor. He doesn't like blankets but is snuggling with her under them. Our vet is at the birthing of a horse. I want to know how long it is safe for my male dog to be laying with my female dog? Is it normal for labor to start kind of out of the blue? I am waiting for our vet to call.

Four adults ten dollars a day. Through work I have access to bread meat and cheese for one meal a day. Any ideas on helping me stretch the food dollar?

I own a service dog. He got a kitty for his birthday. He picked one out and one picked him. They were sisters so we got them both. Lol We have the ability to get one more pet. We want to get him a dog to play with when he gets home and can relax. My dog is a hava-malt. He weighs 11 pounds. We want a dog that will get no bigger than 20 pounds. This dog will have to be able to stay home alone for 4 to 6 hours a day sometimes and not be distressed. I work from home for the most part but there are times when I have to leave. I don't want a chiwawa or dachound. I love the look of the pomeranian but the temperment is not right for here. This dog must get along with cats who love to play with their dogs. Lol What I am looking for is a general idea of good dog breeds so I will know what I am looking for when I go to the pound. Once again my dog will be going with us to help us pick out our new family member. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. :-) thank you

My friend just gave birth to a beautiful son! Her husband and her are going to name him Akshit. This is NOT pronunced how it is spelled. It has a wonderful meaning...strong and unfailing...I looked it up. Her husband has been an American citizen 10 years. She moved here 3 years ago from India after they got married. I know the way people here are going to mispronunce his name. When I looked up the meaning of his name I saw it is a form of the name Aksita. Any polite way to suggest it before the birth certificate is filled out?

My dog just turned a year old. He loves and adores cats. A friend's foster cat had kittens 3 weeks ago. The cat actually let my dog lay near her kittens today. The kittens were so cute climbing on him! All of these kittens are spoken for. This is not the first time I have thought of getting him a kitten. Do I take him to the pound and let him pick one out or should I look for a free one? The kitten that seemed to choose my dog today was so sweet! He curled up with my dog and fell asleep. My dog was sad to leave.

I have 5 tiny blisters that have popped on the roof of my mouth. They really hurt. They were not there when I went to bed last night. I have been married for 4 years and we have only been with eachother so it's not an STD. Any ideas what this can be?
