  • Patenting video games?

Say I live in the US, and had an idea for a video game and I would like to develop it until I can sign a Copyright file because ideas can't be copyrighted.

To my understanding Patent law is able to give you a 3 year gap of protection from copy and/or stealing the idea, which gives confidence over pitching it to other people.

How does it work in the US an does other country's laws are accepted there?

And can an indie developer patent a video game in it's conception stage, even before any coding has been done?

  • Could more than daily recommended Vitamin B12 dosage harm you?

I've been hearing about something called "G fuel" from gamers and they said that it actually helps them stay in focus for long period of time. Gamers who play for more than 6 hours, those who stream and commentate in the stream and heard good things about it and I thought maybe I could have a taste.

I looked into the website and it seems that the "energy formula" called G fuel is actually using Vitamins instead of carbonated-over-sugary-caffeine liquid which actually drain you from Vitamins that you took with it. Alot of convicing marketing stuff such as "polite guys" heard from some gamers and on the site there are alot of quotes from pro gamers, etc etc.

Before deciding to eventually buy it I found out that it has a picture of the contents inside the formula. Containing a rather good amount of antioxidants, not a whole lot of overdosage since most of the stuff is peed out eventually, but then I looked at the Vitamin B12 contents and it turned out ot have 4167% of the daily recommended dosage. About 250 micrograms when the daily recommende dosage is hovering somewhere at 2-4 micrograms.

Then two options appeared in my mind:

-Maybe the over dosage of this Vitamin B12 is the source of all the focus since it's an acid that keeps the nervous system operating properly.

-Maybe it is not as healthy as people consider it to be.

I realize this is not a supplement, but the scary thing is that per serving it has this amount of Vitamin B12. My question is, will that somehow harm me? 41 times the recommended daily dosage is a bit overkill IMO, but then again don't exactly know how Vitamins work either. However I did heard that any surplus of liquid based Vitamins (which is what B12 is) will be filtered by the kidneys.

  • What is the molecular structure of a jelly?

I've been thinking about making a game that is highly based on evolving a certain jelly-based

bio-material, AKA slime. (I know that a real world slime is actually based on either mucus, which is rather sticky, and there is also a form of biological life which grows on certain materials)

I want to use the Jelly as a base material for the exotic creature, and as it evolves it will change and mix the raw material with some other material to create a better structure.(according to player's decisions throughout the game of course)

I've been exploring plants around me, and noticed how jelly-like small bushes react to my pull of a certain part. as this part is pull, branches are pull with it, and the branches of those branches are pulled, and like a field, changing one area affects the other, so I've seen a very quantum-like response. There it striked me, that the molecular structure of jelly could be somewhat similar to plants.

But to confirm I want to ask what is the molecular structure of a jelly, by sctructure I mean how are the molecules in the jelly stick to one another? Like, if you were to ask and engineer how the building can sustain an earthquake he will tell you how the walls are built, and how is the base protecting the structure. I don't mean anything like which atoms it consists per molecule, but rather how the molecules interact with one another.

    Another question:

How do slime cells stick? and since I have never seen one, is it wiggly like jelly and sticky like those sticky hand toys as I imagine?

  • So I've been researching a bit about fetal development and I have a question?

I have read in many sources that any enviromental changes affect the fetus, considering it's a very fragile phase of development. Most sources seem to take drugs and smoking as examples, but knowing how certain foods can affect us, and enviromental changes in air composition I want to ask soemthing.

That is true that Genes are the blueprints of us, and looking at fetal development images and other stuff, apparently the fetus grows fingers with webbing, and a very good webbing that allows for swimming and good finger movement at the same time. The only reason they disappear is that the cells with the genetic code die during the fetal development, or the genomes just cancel the process in the right places so we can still develop fingers but the webbing is not growing further.

My question is, what if the mother were to develop a fetus, and in the early stages up to the point where the baby is almost humanly shaped, and the hands have almost fully developed, she was to swim alot and eat mostly seafoods such as fish and seaweeds in the diet(while still maintaining a balance for vital vitamins and minerals etc) could the fetus's body be developed slightly better as a swimmer?

    If not, why?

  • some questions about ejaculation?

    Well here is what happened:

I wanted to ask my doctor if mustarbation with ejaculation could harm me, before I get semen tested. Now lately I was very horny and mustarbated like evry few minutes when I was alone, but got way too excited, and I was at the point that a simple change of enviroment close to my penis could make me ejaculate, and unfortunately couldn't hold it anymore.

But then I remembered I have a microscope with insane magnification(between 100 to a 1000) so I thought to myself might as well try to check my fretility myself. For about half an hour I was trying to look at the semen and found nothing. I don't know if it's because my microscope's design is having the light behind the specimen or is it because the way I mustarbated it out made it so that no sperm will be in the fluid. anyway I saw no movement.

I tried to "kill" the semen to try and identify at least if I produce ANY sperm at all. some black dots looked like immobile sperm through the entire half an hour but I didn't assume it was sperm, because the fluid was full of air bubbles, and try to magnify it more than 300x-600x the same dots were almost clear. Also the fluid was yellow, if that tells anything.

    My questions are:

    1. Is mustarbating for very few seconds and a minute of pause in between could make me ejaculate spermless semen?

    2. Why exactly semen could come out from clear fluid to white to yellowish?

    3. Does a microscope which could show me red blood cells which seem to be almost clear because of how thin it is when put on a plate and under a cover glass, could show me sperm?

    4. Is Sperm clear or complete white when light bounces off of them?(if they are not clear obviously sperm would be almost black under a microscope with light underneath the specimen)

    5. If the microscope can see sperm, do I need a special chemical for it?

I also heard some STDs are thriving under the male's foreskin(although from where I heard it didn't confirm if the male itself is also infected), so is it possible to catch an STD from mustarbation?

  • are there exceptions in genetics?

specificly I asked a question not so long time ago about changing my body structure, which I got an answer of simply "no". But what if I DO change my genes, aka activating certain genes, will that pass on to my next generation and the body structure I wanted to have will be passed on to the next generation?

I learned that both genomes and epigenomes are passing to the next generation, so therefore my actions today gonna affect my offspring of tomorow, but are there exceptions to this? or just some genes are weaker in changing themselves?

I theorized to myself that a fetus will grow in a certain way to survive, so in order to do that we have a blueprint AND activities/diet from the mother(in case of belly-born mammals).

Lets say I swimmed more than a normal human should, will my offspring get traits of a swimmer in his genes, including body structure like lets say webbing digits between fingers?

Also another question is can something drasticly change in the body after fetal development, but years before puberty?

  • Plastic surgery effects?

Hello, I've heard about plastic surgeries here and there, but I've been wondering, if I lets say wanted to get more skin on my body, and for that I need to go through a plastic surgery, after the procedure, would I feel the added skin in the area?

  • is it possible for me to develop webbed fingers?

I researched genes and epigenome, and it seems the epigenome seem to turn on and off the genes. noticing how everyone has a little bit of webbing and we have webbed fingers while in a mom's belly. My theory is that there is a gene that we have that has the responsibility for the body structure and so does it have the webbing,

My question is, would I be able to develop slightly extended surface on my webbing digits from epigenome, if I started going on a bit more sea-food diet and swim more often? if not, why so?

  • Given the following scenario, how long can a human survive?

    The body has access to:

    *food and required nutrients

*drinking water with the needed minerals

    *constant di-Oxygen

*disposal and clean off of junk(in detail: CO2, poop, pee etc.)

    Liquid condition:

    *H2O(water)

    *No minerals

    *at sruvival tempratures

    *at survival density

*no predators(except from possible bacteria which we are immune to)

If there are any effects, please list them and say why are they happening.

  • Is it theoretically possible to develop webbed fingers?

Since the body always develops and heard that genes are changing over time. I also noticed we have slightly webbed fingers. So here is a theory, not done under a microscope or chemical tests.

Since we have these slightly webbed fingers, there IS a gene and also in a factor in the DNA code which has this information about webbed fingers. Since the body also changes throughout the life time depending on needs such as filtering UV rays and growing hair thanks to both genes and hormones, that means the body will change the genes and develop depending on the enviroment.

So what would happen if I needed to swim for most of my life, will I develop a bigger area of webbed fingers? Sure the development stopped in pregnancy, but life forms always have chemical reactions. Just like skin tan, where previous skin cells died, new skin cells replace them with better protection.

I don't know about olympic swimmers, but sure as hell they don't swim 90% of their daily life. But looking at them I would have the muscles fit for swimming...But how about body structure will it change as well if I would swim more frequently than they do? Including the slightly webbed fingers?

I am also still technically in puberty so it might have theoretically better effects to my knowledge, but again I am coming without PhD on it, so if it is possible, how?

  • Forgotten OLD games from the past?

First of all I wanna clear that when I say OLD it is not from the 1990s or 1980s with DOS graphics, it would've been easy to find if that was the case. I am talking about early 2000s or maybe late 1990s. When I was a kid I had 2 games, but I can't remember their name, luckily I know one of the levels and the menu.

The first game has a menu, where the character you play as sits on a chair in some sort of matrix chamber sort of thing, and you needed to pick a planet(apparently) one of the planets look like a canyon with mars atmosphere. You go there and you are on a truck firing at enemies coming at you. At some point in the game you are transferred to a helicopter, shooting from above, and then go back to the truck. Later at the end of the game, you go to a tower above the cliffs, and find there a Mag, if I am not mistaken looks alot like a 5.56mm Mag for the M4A1. In graphics terms, it wasn't too bad, so probably from 2000s but nor was it to great like Half-Life 2 but I guess they came out in the same timeline.

The second game features planes, but not like the F-22 or MiGs, these planes are differently designed and look like from a cartoon or something. In the menu you go through some options and end up in different places in your base, when you finally start, you plane is launch at about 45 degrees upwards from an in-mountain base. Your objective is to look and destroy bases around the island your base is located in. graphics were kinda rubbish, you could see the pixels of a texture very clearly.

  • what's the name of this documentary?

The documentary talks about violence, mainly in USA, I know what happens in certain parts but dunno the name.

At one part there was a story about a boy(2nd grade I believe they were) who took a fire-arm to school and shot a girl.

One other story was talking about a shoot-out in a high school, and in the movie the victims and the director managed to make an ammo company to stop the sellings of their ammo, of course with time.

At one other part there was a clip with soilders fighting, with the background song called "What a wonderful world" (as ironic it is) then cutting ot the director and another guy talking when one of them says "I love this country".

At one other part there were a bunch of politicians cutting from one to another saying reasons for violence, one said "Video games" and other said "South Park", which earlier in the movie was mentioned that "South Park" was made as a criticism towards US

The final 2 parts I remember:

One is the finale, the director meeting a person who came a day after a girl was shot, with the director showing her picture for reasons I do not remember, but fails to speak with him. As a result leaves but puts the picture in front of his house.

Another and the final part is when they were visiting canada, it was mentioned by canadians that most if not all canadians do not lock their doors. A cut afterwards the director went to check it out himself and he managed to open every door shown in the movie without keys or permission from the owners.
