  • Questions about thyroid cancer?

My mom's boyfriend, who is 67, was just diagnosed with thyroid cancer. They had removed one side of the thyroid, which was extremely long, and discovered it. Apparently there are 3 types of thyroid cancer, and he has all 3. The doctor has never seen this before. They are removing the other half next week and then will start iodine treatments. Has anyone out there ever experienced this or do you know of someone who has? I would love to hear some experiences. Thank you so much.

  • Perseid meteor showers?

I was out watching the meteors the other night. It was fascinating. I'm just curious though, the ones I saw didn't "streak" across the sky. Rather, they moved slowly. Do meteors actually do that? Sounds silly, I know...

  • a very delicate genital cancer question?

My 90 year old aunt, who is the most wonderful woman in the world, has found out after thinking she had a yeast infection, that she actually has cancer. It's a genital cancer, affecting the inner labia (sorry to be graphic). I have never heard of this before. They are going to perform several biopsies in a few weeks. Has anyone ever had this or heard of this before? Thanks all.

in 2 hours we find out there is a tried and true cause for cancer, and in 3 hours gas goes down to $1.50 a gallon. Will American Idol STILL be the only topic of conversation on radio, TV and the internet??? I'll be soooo glad when it's over! Will you?

  • Gas Prices--What CAN we do?

OK, a serious question. I know everyone says the President can't do anything to lower gas prices. Only we can. As an overly concerned US citizen, I would love to hear what we can do to lower prices. I'm all for it. Unfortunately when it comes to working--I have to drive a car. I live 22 miles away and in a direction where there are no employees to carpool with. However, I have parked my car and opted to drive a 4 cylinder standard shift instead. What more can we really do?

  • Getting out of debt?

I have a serious ongoing problem. I am a single mom that owes probably $4000 in unpaid bills. now one of my credit card companies turned me over for collection, and they want either a reduced amount paid off or 2 payments of over $600 each. I don't have it. I was screwed in a divorce, trying to raise two kids on one income and can't make my payments. Gas is killing me. I also owe over $600 to the government and that will come out of my stimulus check. I can't ask to borrow any more money from mom. I need to call the bill collector back in 24 hours on the credit card or they will start proceedings. What do I do? I am reading how bad consumer credit counseling places are.....any advice?

  • Why does my dog do this?

I have a beagle--she will make sounds similar to a choke--like she's inhaling and choking at the same time. She'll do this whether she pulls on her leash, or when she's at rest. Someone once told me it was an inward sneeze, but I hardly believe that. What exactly is it?

How long does it typically take the state to cash a check for taxes that I would have mailed on April 14? I've never mailed a payment before and wonder how long I'll have that cushion in my checkbook.
