Advice on my 401K investments - Should I keep all as is or tweak it?
These are my current investments:
VANGUARD 500 INDEX SIGNAL - S&P 500 INDEX {15%}
RETIREMENT 2045 FUND - DOW JONES TARGET 2045 INDEX {30%}
PRUDENTIAL JENNISON SMALL CO Z - RUSSELL 2500 INDEX {10%}
AMERICAN CENTURY GROWTH INV - RUSSELL 1000 GROWTH INDEX {20%}
TEMPLETON INST FOREIGN SERIES - MSCI EAFE INDEX {5%}
MID-CAP GROWTH FUND - S&P MID CAP 400 INDEX {20%}
I know nothing about investments/retirement funds, etc. I set up my 401K plan in 2008 just before my 29th birthday. I have raised the percentage for my retirement 2045 fund to 30% since my inception. At this current time with the economy, etc I think I would like to save more than take the risk with stocks. Should I raise the percentage going to my retirement fund? Does the above breakdown look good or would it be beneficial to adjust the percentages?
Available stocks are:
AMERICAN CENTURY GROWTH INV
INVESCO INTL GROWTH, INST
LOOMIS SAYLES VALUE FUND
MID-CAP GROWTH FUND
PERKINS MID CAP VALUE CL T
PRUDENTIAL JENNISON SMALL CO Z
TEMPLETON INST FOREIGN SERIES
VANGUARD 500 INDEX SIGNAL
VICTORY SMALL CO OPPORTUNITY I
Available Bonds are:
PIMCO TOTAL RETURN ADMIN
Availalbe Money market / Stable value is:
TRP STABLE VALUE FUND SCH A
The retirement fund 2045 would stay the same? I will be 66 in 2045.
Thank you in advance for all your imput on this matter.
