chasin rodeo
17 years old. Living in the arm pit of California haha. I've been riding horses for 12 years. I barrel race, and I'm in the process of learning to rope all around. I like to go to brandings and rodeos. I also want to learn to cut. But I think I'll take it one discipline at a time(: I like anything outdoors, and I'm looking to buy a truck! Got one hit me up! http://www.myspace.com/wearthem00se Let's be friends?
How can I soften my horsehair mecates?
The pricklyness doesn't bother me, but I'd like them to be more supple, and not so stiff.

I watched some Youtube videos on how to give a horse a shot, and they all say to pull back to make sure you didn't get any blood, but what happens if you do.. do you take the needle out blood vaccine and all and "re-stick" and slightly pull back again to see if you didn't get any blood?
5 AnswersHorses10 years agoI wanna make a binder with records in it.. how?

5 AnswersHorses10 years agoTips for starting a manual on a hill?
I drive a Ford Bronco 2, stick shift, no hand brake.
Sooo any tips for starting it on a hill? Like let's say I roll up to a stop sign on a hill, how do I start? Do I need to gas more, brake more, what? No hand brake. So that makes it harder. Should I just avoid hills all together? HELP! :)

Hey, just doing some browsing. It's out with the old and in with the new. I lalalalalove Teskeys and Smith Brothers. Any others? I ride western- mainly rodeo and ranching so I'm not looking for show and English tack. The sites I already have looked at are-
Teskeys
Smith Brothers

And Luans Leathers
Oh and maybe sites for western wear?
I love Rods and Sheplers.
Thanks!!

1 AnswerOther - Cars & Transportation1 decade agoGiving a stranger my horses reg. number?
I'm selling my horse and he's registered. A lady emailed me and asked for his registered number. I'm by no means familiar with anything about registration and breeding. Is it harmless or is that something I should keep to myself.. kinda like a social security number??? Thanks for looking at my stupid question :)

6 AnswersYouTube1 decade agoGoat tying question!?
I've always borrowed goat strings from friends.. I ordered my very own off of Smith Brothers! WELL do I leave the string stiff or do I soak and stretch it like a rope? I'm pretty certain I leave it stiff as I have been told I will tie faster and the string will hold better. But you never know till you ask :) thanks!
3 AnswersHorses1 decade agoHorse traveling question?
So I'm going to college and taking my horses. Where I'll be is 7 hours away from my hometown.. after how many hours will I need to stop? And when I stop do I just park for 30 minutes or do I unload and walk my horses around and let them stand out of the trailer? And for how long should I let them out? The farthest I've been with my horses is 4.5 hours and we didn't really stop.. soo anyways, the main point- after how many hours do I pull over and let my horses stand?
Thanks :)
9 AnswersHorses1 decade agoTaking a truck to a mechanic before buying?
You know how you can take a horse to get a vet check before you buy it.. can you take a truck to a mechanic? I don't know much about cars in general, but I'm buying a new to me truck.. and I don't want to buy a piece of junk. So can they do much? How much do you think it would cost (i.e. $300-$600)
4 AnswersBuying & Selling1 decade agoManual driving tips needed!!?
Learning to drive a stick shift. I've got it down pretty good, just need some tips.
Here's my main question..
After first gear when I raise my RPM's to change to second gear, do I have to let off the clutch slowly and give it a little gas like going into first? Or can I just push in the clutch and release right after I change the gear?
Any advice is appreciated, thanks (:
6 AnswersOther - Cars & Transportation1 decade agoHEY! Would this look good on my horse?
My horses 'color' is usually Hunter Green. I've got h.g. bling tack, boots, and saddle blanket for rodeos. WELL I did a little online shopping and I FELL IN LOVE with this tack set. But stubborn ol me doesn't want to switch colors.. would Turquoise look good on him? And not look too childish or dumb. I know a lot of 'kids' who have Turquoise for their horse, and may I remind you these kids I know are childish as they come :p no offense if you use Turquoise. ANYWAYS take a look

He's the paint horse.
Breastcollar to the set

I'll also get Turquoise Pro. Choice splint boots
But I feel like it's too bright of a color and it'll look all weird. Why do I feel this way?
Idk, it's probably cause I like to stick to dark colors when it comes to dressing up my horses, I've always used black, royal blue, burgandy, hunter green and colors like that. Turquoise is stepping out of my 'comfort zone' haha
9 AnswersHorses1 decade agoBARREL RACERS: what brand cinch do you LOVE?
I'm selling all my old, and buying new. I've got rope cinches, neoprene cinches, felt cinches and many more. I barrel race myself, and have been using the Charmayne James barrel cinch for the past few years. Well, I want something different. I haven't had problems with this cinch but I'd like to try something new. So what do you have, what do you love, and what do you hate?

5 AnswersHorses1 decade agoSweet Jesus can somebody write a book on saddle bars?
Full QH bars
Semi QH bars
QH bars
I cannot and I mean CANNOT grasp the connection on which size bar should fit which size horse
(in general that is)
So I've got a high withered horse, I would think Semi QH bars would fit him, right?
Then I've got a horse who isn't narrow, but isn't wiiide. So Full QH bars should do the trick.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks!
