  • Kansas church says war in Iraq is a punishment for homosexuality. Whats the connection between them?

This article states that a fundamentalist Kansas church pickets military funerals in the belief that the war in Iraq is a punishment for the nation's tolerance of homosexuality. How did they connect the war in Iraq with homosexuality?

  • Why am I compelled to answer Y/A?

I find myself spending hours supplying answers to questions asked by people I have not and never will meet. What is it that motivates one to do this? I mean, the "points" have no value, and since nobody knows who I really am, have no meaning. Yet I come back and give answers day after day. WHY?

  • Which is best: Crosley or Teac automatic vinyl LP to CD recorder?

I want to record my vinyl albums and cassettes to CDs, but I am not a technically sophisticated guy, so I want to make it as simple as possible. It is my impression that there are three fairly simple vinyl to CD recorders that I can consider:

    Crosley Songwriter CR 248 PA

    Teac GF-650

    Teac GF-350

I have read that the Teac GF-350 makes low quality CD recordings, and if that is so, I don't want it. Can you confirm whether that is true? That leaves the Crosley Songwriter CR 248 PA and the Teac GF-650, both which sell for $400-$500. I would be very interested in seeing what you think about:

Is either the Crosley Songwriter CR 248 PA or the Teac GF-650 easier to use, or less buggy?

Which of the Crosley Songwriter CR 248 PA or the Teac GF-650 makes better sounding LPs to CDs?

I have a really high quality cassette deck, can I use the AUX input on the Teac GF-650 to record my cassettes onto CDs?

    Anything else I should consider?

  • I live in San Francisco, what is the best way to sell my stamp collection?

I collected stamps when I was in a kid in 1970-1974. I have a lot (100-200?) of mint condition blocks of 4 with the plate number attached from this period, these probably include the majority of commemorative stamps issued during this period. Are these worth anything, and how do I find out what they are worth? Or should I start using them for mailing letters? I also have what is likely a "typical" kids collection of used US and foriegn stamps. Is this likely to have any value?
