  • Question on getting my dog spayed.?

I am getting my 5-month old Boxer-German Shepard mix spayed this coming Tuesday. I won't be getting her back till Wednesday. But, I have a few questions. I was wondering if I there is something I could ask the vet on request, that you guys might know of, that could keep her kinda "knocked out" or "drugged up" (feel weird using those terms) until her incision heals. I work 5 days a week, and my mom or sister are generally home with her. But, my sister works too, but not as often as me. My dad works 5 days a week as well. So, it's generally my mom home with her. My mom does generally do fine managing her. But, she is wanting to know this more than me really. If I was to ask the vet about some type of medication that would keep her somewhat sleepy or low energy until it heals, would the vet be able to provide something like that? Do you guys have any experience with doing something similar to this?

  • My idiot neighbors dogs.?

I have been living in this place for 5 years with my mom, dad and sister. Our neighbors are pretty much drugies and are complete nimrods. I've heard them outside at like 1am just arguing and being annoying. They have two dogs, a pit-bull and some beagle mutt mix thing. They have a fenced in yard, but they literally leave the gate open 24/7 with their dogs outside. And these dogs, of course, will leave their yard and roam around the neighborhood. I recently just took on a family members dog. This family member I am referring too has been diagnosed with cancer and does not have very long to live. As she cannot take care of the dog anymore, we took on responsibility of the dog. We've had this dog for two months now, and I've been somewhat fearful of our neighbors dogs because of just how our neighbors are, I can only imagine how these dogs are. Today, I took the dog outside so she could use the bathroom, and our the dogs from our neighbors house ran out of the open gate and into our yard and started chasing our dog and barking and crap. I picked our dog up and brought her inside. The reason being, I really do not know these dogs, and I have no clue of what their history is. Crap, back when I was in school when I would get off the bus and walk inside, these dogs would run out of their gate and bark behind me until I got to my yard, and sometimes would follow me to my driveway. What measures can I take here? I really am unsure of what I should do now.

  • Aux to cassette adapter?

I know it sounds weird, but, I just recently bought a 2007 Honda Civic that has an aux adapter. I used to drive a 95 Explorer that had a cassette tape player, and I used to use a cassette to aux adapter and play music from my phone into it. But, I did use to play some old AC/DC and Lynyrd Skynyrd cassette tapes in my car. I was wanting to know, is there a way I could find an aux to cassette adapter or something like that? I know that's one heck of a long shot, but, I am just curious. This ain't really a huge kick in the nuts to me as I can just download the albums online and play them through my phone into the aux. But, there is a special feeling you just get with using a cassette tape ya know?

  • Side pain?

Now, I've had this kinda pain since I was young, like, as far back as I can remember is 12. I am 20 now. It's this pain that is on both sides of my abdomen (but mostly the left) above my hips. Now, the whole left side of my body is an **** to me. But, this pain from my sides is an aching pain. I am thinking it possibly could be how I sit. But, eh, someone told me before they passed a kidney stone they had pain on one of their sides prior to passing it. Me, personally, I am DEEPLY terrified of kidney stones. I've never had one, and don't plan on it. I drink plenty water and have a pretty decent diet and exercise for an hour three times a week, weight lifting twice and jogging once. I have a maintenance diet/routine I do. I do not want to lose any more weight or bulk any. I am happy where I am in my current state. But, this pain, it comes randomly. It comes when I am just sitting in my chair, laying in my bed, or I could be moving. I've found that sometimes if I move a certain way the pain will come but it will be more sharper of a pain and only come for an instant. It's the weirdest thing man. Like said, I think it might be how I sit down in a chair. When I am not working out or at work. I am generally home on my computer. How I sit, in my chair and most places. My lower back generally is not touching the back of the chair. I've been trying lately to correct this but haven't seen results.

Could any of you wonderful people here on Answers have an idea of what this could be?

  • Should I be concerned?

My dog ( 3-month-old female Boxer-Pit mix) has an appointment with the vet tomorrow for shots. But, yesterday evening, she started having diarrhea. It looked mushy, kinda like a cow-pie. Today her stools started to somewhat return to normal. They started making the normal "line" along with some mush. Today she has thrown up twice. After the first time we gave her a little amount of food like 5-6 hours later as it is the time she starts to go to bed. But, an hour later she threw up again, and the imgur link is to a picture of what it looked like. It has red marks in it. We have not changed her food. Yesterday, my mom did give her two bites of raisin bread from her plate because she was begging, not knowing raisins are toxic to dogs. But, other than that, she is acting perfectly fine. I am putting imgur link of what the vomit looked like. If you are squeamish, you might not wanna go and look. But, that IS NOT poop, that is what she vomitted. I will be asking the vet tomorrow about it, but, I do want some other opinions and other thoughts before I do so. I myself am a first time dog owner, so, I am always weary.

What could this dog be mixed with?

I am planning on adopting this dog within a few days from my local shelter. The dog from what I was told over the phone and by looking at the picture (there is only one picture) and information given on the shelters website weights 15LBS (probably more now) and is 2-3 months old. All it says is that it is a male Lab Mix, nor could the lady over the phone help much with figuring out its breeding history. I am having trouble distinguishing what the dog could be mixed with myself and of course, want to know. Any help?

I know that getting a visual might not always work. But, any help or opinions given would be appreciated! :)
