  • V-Day Gift: Yes or No?

I'm contemplating whether or not to have a Valentine's Day gift delivered to a very close friend of mine.

We've known each other for nearly 8 years but lost contact with her for the last two. In the beginning, we were intimate, but for the wrong reasons. Over the years, we became very close. We told each other and talked about things that we'd never tell anyone else. But, either one or both of us would be involved with someone else, so nothing ever happened.

We got back in contact a few months ago and starting hanging out more for the past couple of month, but things have changed. She now has a six month old baby girl and is single (father's a LOSER). I want to do something nice for her. I want her to feel loved and appreciated, but at the same time, I don't want her to feel overwhelmed or pressured into anything.

I was thinking about sending red roses and chocolates to her and also having a nice bouquet of flowers delivered to her mom and baby girl as well. If we were lovers; I wouldn't even be on here asking this question...So, there's my dilemma.

  • Ladies / Gents: What should be my next move?

    So, here's the deal.

I've had my eye on this really beautiful girl at work for awhile now. Anytime we've crossed paths, I would try to make eye-contact with her then say hello, but she'd never look at me. From a distance, she'd smile and joke with her friends, then as I'd approach, she'd get serious (all of a sudden). So, I figured maybe she's not interested.

Last Wednesday, I'm chatting with a mutual friend, and mention to her (how pretty I think her friend is and how mature she seems) "I wonder how old she is?". Our mutual friend says she will talk to her and then get back to me.

The next day, my friend tells me that I'm her friends "type" and she wants to know how old I am as well. She told me that she didn't even mention my name to her but she was able to guess it was me on the first try, because I am her type. She said her friend was smiling left and right. When she told me that, I starting smiling uncontrollably.

So, after-work, I'm getting scanned out by security (I work at a retail store) as I'm leaving the job, I see the girl about to leave as well (we make brief eye-contact) so I say to myself, let me make my move now. I walk out of the building to wait for her.

All of a sudden, this guy I've never seen before walks out the store. He stands about 3 yards away from me and starts to look inside the store. I'm doing the same thing, and I'm wondering: "Are we both waiting for her?". I'm looking at the guy, but he doesn't look back. When she finally walks out the job, he walks towards her and at this point I know they're together, because he starts carrying her bags and is walking with her.

Luckily, two of my co-workers walk out right behind her, so I don't look like a complete idiot. I chat it up with them for a minute, then we all go our separate ways.

The next day, I tell our mutual friend what happened and I ask her if that was the girl's boyfriend? She said that it might have been, but the girl told her they had broken up sometime last month. She told me that she can't stand that guy because he treats her friend so bad. I'm like if he treats her so bad, then why is she still with him?

I've been through this before, and I'm not trying to go through it again. I told my friend to talk to her and find out for sure what the situation is. That was on Friday. On Sunday I talked to my friend, but she forgot to ask the girl about what happened.

I'm starting to lose it here. I really like this girl, and now that I know she is interested as well, I need to know what's going on. I don't want to wait too long, but I don't want to push the issue.

Everyone's feedback is appreciated, but I'm very interested on the female's POV.

  • What does it mean if your rate of return on your 401K is at: [ - 8%]?

What if you were to close out your Account at that rate?

If you're still paying back a Loan that your took out from your 401K, can you still close out your Account?

  • Ladies: Can you give me your opinion on this?

So. I'm at a birthday party last night, and I see this girl that I haven't seen since New Year's Eve. We get along good, and we've seen each other at past gatherings, but it took a while for us to start speaking to each other. But, on New Year's Eve, we kissed.

Last night, she was giving me signs that she was interested in pursuing something (possibly more serious) relationship-wise. She was asking questions, like: "Do you like children?" and "Would you be with a woman who already has kids?"...stuff like that.

When it came time to leave, I asked for her phone#, and she told me: "I don't have a phone". I didn't believe that s#!t, I figured something else was going on. Later that night, I come to find out that she's still having issues with her baby's father, who she broke up with last year.

I like this girl, and I would like to advance the relationship, but I'm not going to force it. So ladies, I would be interested in hearing your opinion on this matter.

  • Birthday Gift! Need Help?

Does anyone know if or where I could purchase a DVD Set of telenovela: "Bajos Las Reindas del Amor"? My Mother's birthday is coming up in a couple of weeks, and she mentioned that she really wants a copy of this show. I told her that (telenovelas) are not easy to find on dvd, but I'll try to find out. So, I've checked all over online and found this one site, but, they want like $8 USD/per disc (@10-20 dvd discs per show) + another $45 for shipping & handling (export from Spain)----THAT"S RIDICULOUS.....

So I'll show my appreciation (by giving 10 pts.) to anyone who could help me out with this.

    "bajos las reindas del amor"

    Thanks

  • McCain/ Giuliani ? vs. Obama/ Edwards?

What are your predictions for GOP Candidate (Pres./Vice Pres.) vs. Democratic Candidate (Pres./Vice Pres.)?

I know Edwards has not endorsed anybody yet, but I think he wants the headlines to himself, so he'll wait awhile.

    What do you think?

  • Which platform are you buying GTA IV for?

I have an XBOX 360, but I think I'm going to buy a PS3 pretty soon, for "GTA IV". Also, I think it'll be worth it because PS3 has major exclusive titles like "Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots" and "God Of War 3".

I'm looking over my contacts and I've just noticing that most of my contacts are girls. I'm wondering if it's just a coincidence; are there more girls on this site than guys?; or do maybe girls just ask alot more interesting questions(?)

  • The UNTHINKABLE!?

Imagine this. Total anarchy! The government is overthrown. There is no law, no order. Homes are burning to the ground and the lives of you, your friends and your family are in great danger. You travel as a pack to protect each other, but you have no guns.

Meanwhile, you are being chased by a large number of people who want to do harm to you and your loved ones. It's dark, but you find safety in a nearby abandoned building. You MUST be in total silence in order to avoid these evil-doers. There are a lot of children with you (one of them being your infant child).

As the evil mob passes by, your child is about to cry. You immediately cover their mouth with your hand. The longer you leave your hand on them, the chances greatly increase of you smothering them to death. But, if you take your hand off, the mob will hear the cries and find your location.

So, what would you do? Take the life of your child in order to save yourself and the rest of your loved ones or do you let your child cry and take your chances, unarmed?
