  • What do you think about these asylum seeker facts (Aus)?

    - Around 80% of people who arrive by boat ultimately meet the harsh standards of being a legitimate refugee and granted protection, compared to air where only around 20% of asylum seekers meet the standard.

    - More asylum seekers arrive by air than by boat.

    Given these facts why do politicans and the media keep up the "stop the boats" line, when these people are genuinely fleeing from persecution and need our help? Shouldn't we be more worried about people arriving by air?

  • What refractive index do I need?

    Here's my prescription:

    Right: Sph -6.25 / Cyl -0.25 / Axis 80

    Left: Sph -6.25 / Cyl -1.25 / Axis 170

    A lot of different online sources disagree, and I'm sure a lot of them are pushing their own agenda to sell the most expensive lens. I know it's a strong prescription but would I be able to get away with 1.61 index on a lens that's 50mm wide, 30mm tall?
