Would this DQ me from a clearence from the Air Force?
I had seen a counselor for a little over a year when I was 16 years old. I had gone for I guess u could say anxiety and it was suggested by my mother. I was never given medication or diagnosed with an anxiety disorder and was completey voluntary for me to go.
Would I still be able to get a TS clearence?
3 AnswersMilitary7 years agoLying about mental health and security clearence? edit?
If I had put no on my medical for counseling but I put yes on sci presecreen and whatever else afterward like the sf 86 could I still potentially get a TS clearence?
6 AnswersMilitary7 years agoLying about mental health and security clearence?
I want to go to the Air Force soon and I dont know if theres going to be a problem. On my medical portion at MEPS I was told to put no for having seen a counselor. Though I saw one for about 2 years because of some stress and anxiety at the time but it was voluntary and had no medication peescribed.
If I had put no on my medical, would thay become a problem with getting a TS clearence?

1 AnswerMilitary7 years agoMental health and the Air Force?
I was talking to an air force recruiter and when we were going down the list of my past history. The question of mental health came up and I told them I have been seeing a therapist for the past 2 years but I was never diagnosed with a condition or given medication. He said that I should still put "no" in the medical section.
Should I listen to him? He said that they could not legally look into it
5 AnswersMilitary7 years agoShould I go 4 or 6 year contract with the air force?
I am a recent high school graduate, and have joined the USAF and am leaving for BMT soon. My AFSC is imagery analyst and I had initially signed up for 4 years, but after some thought a 6 year contract seem a little more appealing because of the benefits of making rank faster. Eventually I want to become a TACP but...
is it worth thw extra 2 years in a 6 year contract?
which would work best for a recent high school graduate with no college credits?
5 AnswersMilitary7 years agoIs it possible to have PTSD from experiences of anxiety?
For about two and a half months, I had to cope with being with some people on my high school sports team that I didn't really like having to deal with such as the players and the coach himself. I would always develop an anxiety of feeling trapped in this bad situation. I would have this anxiety come to me at least once every day at practice.
It seems though even when I'm not actually in the sport season, I have flashbacks and that same feeling of anxiety when I am reminded of it.
Is it possible this could be PTSD even though it may not appear to be that serious?
2 AnswersPsychology9 years agoHow do I stop thinking of my therapist as a friend?
Although in my head I know that she is labeled a therapist, it seems that I think of her in more of a friend in most situations than a therapist.
I think the main reason for this is because we tend to get off topic a lot and it becomes more of a frinedly conversation that goes back and forth than anything else.
How do I avoid doing this?
3 AnswersPsychology9 years agoCan you be depressed and not even recognize that you are?
I don't think that I am depressed but maybe I am in denial and in reality I might be.
Does depression take effect in your conscious or unconscious?
4 AnswersPsychology9 years agoDo you believe in regrets in life?
In my opinion I don't believe in regrets, with few exceptions to it.
What do you think?
4 AnswersPsychology9 years agoShould I feel this way about therapy?
It seems that I tend to get depressed after a therapy session. I have looked this up before on google and there were no answers that seem to fit my question. Most of them have said that you just let out all of your emotions to your therapist and are really just recovering and thinking about what you were just talking about.
I think that my issue is that my therapy session takes center for my social life for the week, so when the hour ends with my therapists, and it might not have gone as well as I wanted it to, I go into isolation and depression, because I know that I have to wait another week to talk again.
I guess for example you can say that its sort of like when people have a sex addiction. When its over they feel lonely and depressed, then they crave more to stop the feelings of depression from setting in and do it again. It become a cycle that becomes difficult to stop, and I think that the same applies to me.
Is it normal to feel depressed after a therapy session?
How do I tell my therapist about this? What should I say?

2 AnswersPsychology9 years agoCan you make a fair judgment about somebodies personality without talking to them?
I got into an argument with somebody a week ago about "judging" people without really getting to talk to them.
The argument got started when we discussed how well I know people in my grade in High School. I said that I pretty much knew most peoples personality even though I really haven't had to many discussions with them.
My grade have about 250-300 kids and I feel that I have had some kind of experience with either small talk or just watching them over time that I can make an educated judgment about there personality.
So basically....
Do you think that it is fair to say that I can make an educated judgment about people within my grade?
6 AnswersPsychology9 years agoDo woman become less attractive as you spend more time with them?
I have been in therapy for 5 months, and I think that my therapist is pretty cute. She is young and gives a friendly vibe when you talk with her.
But as time passes and she starts to put her opinion about something that I don't agree with, she seems to become less appealing. I still think that she looks cute, but I am not so crazy about her anymore as when we first started.
Does this go for most people?

4 AnswersPsychology9 years agoShould I tell my therapist that she is attractive?
I have a good relationship with my therapist, and I have been seeing her for about 5 months or so. We talk about our self image sometimes, and she even gives her input about herself. I think that I am a client that she enjoys to see more than some of her other clients. I say this because we often get off topic about psychological personal issues to real world personal issues including herself, and she seems to get into it.
Would it be ok if I mentioned that she was attractive in the least creepy and awkward way possible to her?
I know it sounds weird to ask but its something that has been irritating me for a long time.
Do you think that it would make things weird between us?

I think that I am one of her clients that she enjoys to talk to most. I only say that because whenever we talk about something that went on in my week she seems to really get into conversation and it becomes about 50/50 in the amount that we talk to eachother. You people may disagree to what I think.

8 AnswersPsychology9 years agoIs there a benefit to having to different therapists?
Right now I see a psychotherapist, and it has been working to an extent but there are some underlying issues with my therapist. I have been seeing her for about 5 months and an issue that we have encountered is that we tend to literally talk about the same stuff over and over again and she usually misinterprets what I am trying to explain to her.
I have been contemplating on weather I should change therapists or not but I feel if I see another therapist maybe some kind of psychoanalyst it will help me understand why I feel frustrated and slightly bored being with her.
It's not that I think that she isn't nice, but it gets to a point where the repetition of the same misinformation is driving me crazy.
So my main question is....
Is it a good idea to see two different therapist?
Maybe a psychoanalyst?
