  • Should I work on my career at a call center or speed up my school / weight loss?

I am in a dilemma. I am working at a good but stressful job in a call center. I could work 50+ hours a week with varying hours and become a supervisor and make $45,000 a year in 2 or 3 years. Or I could use that extra time to speed up finishing my getting a second bachelor's and a masters degree. All while getting sleep so I can exercise more often to help my weight loss (losing 100+ lbs). One side seems like I'd have a good job, but the other route I'd have more education, and be thinner and happier. The problem is they aren't mutually exclusive and I'll still lose weight eventually either way. But I don't want to be trapped. I dunno blah any advice?

  • I'm losing a lot of weight, but I am afraid of losing my identity as a big guy, how do I get over that?

I'm really, really big. Need to lose 200 more pounds and I'm just over 6ft tall. I know I should lose weight for the many health benefits but sometimes I can't help but think that if I lose my weight I'll just be another clone amongst the masses.

My preferred weight would probably be like 230, most of it muscle mass but that's still kinda high, how do I get rid of my fear of losing who I am, a big guy, as I lose more and more weight?

  • How do I protect my knees as a morbidly obese person (380 lbs. 6ft. tall) who is physically active?

I know the best thing for my knees is to lose weight, but I'm looking for advice beyond that. Basically I have finally jumped on the weight loss bandwagon, losing 3 pounds a week consistently for the past several months. But now that I'm not sedentary anymore I find my knees hurting a lot.

In the gym: I heard you should not lock your knees when lifting weights, is that correct? Is that locking thing the same while standing straight?

Cardio: I mostly do fast walking on the treadmill for an hour, hike, and play tennis.

My knees hurt most after standing at work for an 8 hour day or weight lifting. Thanks!
