Favorite names from this list? 10 POINTS!?
Can you please order these names from your favorite to your least favorite? I'm writing a novel and I need to name a princess and I'd like some outside opinions. She'd need to have a nickname as well, so I'd prefer a name if that comes with one, though that can be worked around. If you have any outside suggestions feel free to let me know as well. Thanks! (:

13 AnswersBaby Names8 years agoWhat Characters Traits Do You Almost Always Use?
Does anyone else have a few common traits that all of their main characters or even just characters tend to have?
My MCs tend to be brave and they usually happen to be funny or witty as well. They also usually happen to be pretty blunt. How about yours?
(P.S. I know I'm back from the dead. xD I haven't been on in forever! :O)

4 AnswersBooks & Authors8 years agoIs the Character Jack Frost Copyrighted?
I was wondering because I have seen him used by different companies in all different kinds of media. I searched up on it but couldn't find anything.
Is the character of Jack Frost copyrighted?
3 AnswersBooks & Authors9 years agoI have a scholarship question?
If you get an academic scholarship in your senior year of high school, do you have to use the scholarship right after high school, or can you wait a few years and then use it?
1 AnswerFinancial Aid10 years agoB&A: What are your favorite writing prompts?
I'm in a total writing rut, so what are your favorite writing prompts? They can be anything from the 100 Theme Challenge to one liners.
Mine would definitely have to be the 100 Theme Challenge, just because it lasts awhile and you can always make your own if you finish the original. It's just something to fall back on when writer's block hits you.
What are yours?
BQ: What's your favorite kind of pizza? Plain? Mushroom?

7 AnswersBooks & Authors10 years agoIs anyone doing Camp NaNoWriMo?
For anyone who doesn't know, NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month, which takes place in November. During NaNoWriMo, writers try to write a 50,000 word novel (or less on the younger site) in one single month.
This summer, Camp NaNoWriMo was released. It's basically NaNoWriMo during the summer. I think it has two sessions- July and August.
Sorry I didn't ask this sooner, for people who didn't know about it.
Here's the site: http://www.campnanowrimo.org/sign_in
So, is anyone doing it/going to do it? I am.
If you are already doing it, how many words do you have so far? I have only just over five thousand. :P
1 AnswerBooks & Authors10 years agoHelp with commission please?
I have a commission problem on my math final review homework, but I forgot how to do it and can't find my notes on it or a decent website telling me how to.
Can someone please tell me how to do this problem?:
A salesmen earns 4% commission when he sells a car. When the salesmen sells a car for $12,000, how much commission does he earn?

8 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoB&A: Copyright help? Please?
Does anyone know where I can find Mattel's Barbie copyright? I've searched for it for about a half hour now and have found nothing helpful, only cases about Mattel suing copyright violators, not the actual rights. So, does anybody know the actual rights?
I have a blonde haired, blue eyed character in a story I'm writing and I was wondering if it would be illegal to nickname her 'Barbie'. It's not her actual name or anything, just what another character calls her because of her appearance.
Thank you.

1. What's your favorite food?
2. What's your second favorite color?
3. What is your least favorite thing in the entire world?
4. What's your greatest fear?
5. What fear do you think is stupid, ignorant, petty, etc. (Ex: when people are scared of spiders, etc.)
6. What fear did you used to have in the past, that you've now overcome? (Ex: when you were little you were scared of the dark. xD Feel free to be more interesting. (;)
7. Who annoys you the most?
8. What annoys you the most?
9. What do you want right now more than anything in the world?
10. How would you react if you had a stalker?
---
BQ: Let's say the author of your favorite book rewrote the book in another characters prospective. Would you buy it/read it? You loved the book, but you already know how it ends, etc. I was on the fan fiction site and there are *so* many stories that are a lot like the book, but simply written in the point of view of another character.
7 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoB&A: An interesting character interview- I promise.?
Please copy and paste the questions into your answer and answer in the point of view of your character.
1• You wake up in a hospital and remember absolutely nothing. You have no idea who you are, what happened, and you don't remember a single person. How do you react?
2• Who would be the first person to visit you? (Obviously, doctors and nurses don't count unless you know them from before your memory incident. You wouldn't remember them, of course, but who would it be anyway?)
3• Would the person honestly tell you who they were? What would they tell you?
4• How do you think this happened to you?
5• Suddenly, you remember everything. You want to go home, but the doctor doesn't believe you. How do you react?
9 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoB&A: A question for readers...?
They say even if a plot is cliche, if it's written well, people will still read it.
Do you agree with this?
I used to agree with it, but I'm reading a book right now that I probably will abandon. The plot is very cliche and I can and have so far predicted everything that's happened. Bottom line, it's getting boring and I feel like it's a pointless waste of time for me to read the rest. The writing style is alright, not good or bad- and the characters are the same- I don't love them, but I dont hate them either. The whole thing is kind of "meh". "/
Has this ever happened to you?
Writers: Would you ever write a cliche story? Fir those of you who say no, what if you could write it really well?

15 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoB&A: Grammar Question. "/ [And BQs!]?
How would I write this?:
"Fate wanted Anna to be a quiet girl, but she said hell no."
"Fate wanted Anna to be a quiet girl, but she said 'hell no'."
?
The above is just an example, but a character says something along the lines of this in my story and I don't know how to write it. "Anna" didn't actually say "hell no" to being quiet, the character just is very small and petite and looks like she'd be quiet and reserved but she's actually blunt, honest, and loud. :p So, another character is saying this about her as a joke.
I hope I haven't hopelessly confused you.
BQs!:
1. Do you have any plans for today?
2. Who is your favorite character from literature? Why?
3. Who is your favorite character from one of your own stories? Why?
Thank you! [=
7 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoB&A: What do you like the least about writing?
Come on, you have to not like something. Otherwise everyone would have written tons of published novels already. So what's your least favorite part of writing?
BQ: How was your day? ^_^
BQ2: It's about four o'clock where I live. What time is it for you. If it's close to dinner, what are you having/had for dinner?
BQ3: Does your character have a most embarrassing moment?
BQ4: What was the scariest moment of your character's life?
22 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoB&A: What do you think of my story?
Here's my basic plot...
Two vampires fall in love and the girl turns human and a dragon comes and takes them away and then they meet an elf named Harold and he's nice and then they go to the forbidden jungle and run from a snake.
How is it?
Yeah, that was a joke. ^_^ Yes, I'm *that* bored. And I'm supposed to be doing homework. :p
Anyways, BQs...
BQ: Does your main character have any siblings?
BQ2: Do have any siblings?
BQ3: Is your main character in love with anyone? Do they know?
BQ4: Are you in love? Does the person know?
BQ5: What is your favorite thing about your story- your setting (world, country, etc,), characters, or plot?
