I need to now if comparing too columns compares each value to each other value in the other table

i.e. object 1 thing 1

object 2 thing 2

object 3 thing 3

so would object 1 be compared to all 3 things, or just thing 1?

in the event that it isn't, how would I implement that? I could do it in a more versatile language with if's but I'm new to SQL

Ever since this year of school started, I've fixed up my personality and gotten into good shape, but I never expected a response from the girls at my school. I've been approached by multiple girls, who asked me out. Most of the time this wouldn't be a problem, but some went so far as to say they love me, or try to ask me out despite being their current relationship. It worries me, and I don't think it's normal. I turn them down as kindly as possible, but its not working anymore. I'm worried that they will get hurt if I push them away more forcefully.

Any suggestions?

we all hang out in this group so it's really hard to discern because she talks with both of us virtually equally.

She and her friends and me friends usually hang out in a group so I can't really talk to her friends about it. It's kinda awkward.
