Lets say I have this equation: (w_i means w subscript i)

x = max( a + m[w - w_i] )

However under 'max' (in small type) it has a condition w_i <= w. What does this exactly mean? All I can think of is that it is trying to prevent w - w_i from being a negative number. So if w_i > w then what happens?

I currently have Windows 7 running (D drive), and I want to delete the C drive/partition to extend my current Windows 7 partition (D drive). My D drive is marked System, Boot, Page File, Active, Crash Dump, and Primary partition. Since my boot manger is on the d drive and everything, it should be fine to delete (meaning it won't mess up my computer from booting properly). Thank-you

During the industrial revolution during the late 1800 and 1900, in Europe and America, was anyone in agreement to the working conditions in factories. I am in grade 12 university history, and I have to write a paper. I want to do it on the cold war. I have to analyses primary sources and write about them, the themes (not writing historical facts/stories and all that).

Here is my scenario,

I have a 60gallon tank (Dimensions: 48-1/4"L x 12-3/4"W x 57-3/4"H), with a Aqueon filter on one side and a heater on the other. I have a freshwater semi aggressive community of fish. I was wondering, should I get a power head for better water movement? because the side of the tank without the filter, the water seems to be not moving a lot. The filter is 325 gallons per hour, but i am just concerned that the other side isn't getting enough movement. Is the filter good enough for circulation, or is a powerhead highly recommended for a tank of the size?

Also which one would you recommend (that is quiet)?

I had a freshwater aquarium for years now. I recently bought a new 60gallon tank. I am thinking of going for a saltwater aquarium.

First, do you need a special filter or an addition for saltwater? The One I have says it is for fresh or saltwater aquariums, so I am assuming it is fine.

When you first start do you just add the special salt and maintain proper levels by adding salt?

What is the best/recommended protein skimmers?

Last question... Is live rock completely necessary? Is is expensive?

I really need to change my filter cartridge(almost starting to fall apart), but i understand that there is important bacteria that lives there breaking down the ammonia and so on. So if i get a new filter cartridge for my filter will it result with poor water quality?

I just bought a red clawed crab yesterday with crab food (sinking pallets). I put in my crab with my other fish (Barbs, Gouramis), but when ever i try feeding the crab the fish get to the food even before it hits the bottom of the tank, or the fish eat it off the bottom. I tried feeding the fish and crab at the same time so the pallets will get a chance to fall but the fish find it and eat it before the crab does.

What should i do?

All i know is the fish is tropical freshwater fish that is semi - aggressive (im 90% sure),

it is grey, with black spots, two whiskers going down from its head,

longish oval shape, with a semi-transparent tail and a fin going along the top and bottom of the fish.

It seems to be healthy and responsive but it sometimes swims on its side and seems sick. But then it takes off and swims around again. It even floats on its side completely still, and it looks dead. Then swims around again and does the same thing over again.

My other goldfish swim normal and are perfectly fine. Do you know what it might be? Is is sick or something? Thanks

I programmed the game "snake", the classic arcade game, on my computer. anyways...

there are some different versions of this game but what version is the most fun/addicting? What i have now is a snake controlled by the arrow keys, eat to grow longer, collision with walls/itself.

Should i have levels with walls and stuff, powerups, multiplayer, etc. What do you think?

I have a protected override onpaint method to display all my graphics for my program. I used the Matrix class to rotate a rectangle, when i add other rectangles to the form, it rotates also... but i don't want it to do that.

I then tried making a second Graphics object (called x) but the matrix still effects it when the code is:

g.Transform = m; (g is first graphics object, m is matrix object)

i only need the one rectangle to rotate not everything, how would i fix it

(I program in C#) What is the best way to detect collision with two rectangles without using the IntersectsWith method?

I don't really need help with code but with a formula. I program with C# and am making a game like "Park It" (simple car game from birds eye view), and i need a formula so that the depending on the degree what would the x and y values change to?

For example at 0 degrees it would face up so the y value would increase by 1 for example. At 45 degrees (clockwise) the x and y would both increase by the same amount but what about 46, or 2degrees

does anyone know of a formula that would solve this or technique? Thanks a lot!
