  • Should your partner be angry for hurting you?

If you say to your significant other "I feel like I'm in prison because of your constant jealousy" do they have the right to be angry? You're just telling them how their actions make you feel, right?

  • Why would a diesel lose power after running for twenty minutes?

I have a 1978 Mercedes Benz 300CD (diesel) that is losing power during my commute to and from work. After being on the freeway for twenty minutes the engine starts to feel like it's struggling and starving. If I slow down to forty, it's fine. However, when I get back up to cruising speed (between fifty-five and sixty) it starts to struggle again. Why? Just note, I've checked the fuel and air filters and the vacuum pump recently gave out (no power assist on the brakes and the engine won't shut itself off without manually "choking" it), which I have to rebuild (I've ordered the kit). Is it possible that it's water condensation? It's been bitterly cold here, recently.

  • How hard is it to rebuild a diesel vacuum pump?

I have a 1978 MBZ 300CD (123 chassis) that has lost the vacuum (brakes don't work and the engine won't shut-off without choking it). The belts are good so it's probably the pump. New ones are too expensive, refurbs are scarce, so I need to look at rebuilding mine. They have kits (two check valves, gasket, diaphragm) for $25. If the kits are so cheap why are the rebuilts so expensive? Is there some kind of mystical priming process involved or is it really just about replacing the parts?
