Hello, my name is Nurse Ashlina. I am a nurse in a Pediatric ICU and I love children of all ages! I have a wonderful husband whom I have been with for nearly 6 years. I also have two adorable and energetic four-legged, hairy children. The rest of the world calls them dogs. We call them kids, until we add a human baby to our brood.
What do you think of the girl's name Celia?
Celia
Name origin: Latin

12 AnswersBaby Names9 years agoWould Callie work as a nickname for Caitlin?
I adore the name Caitlin, and the nickname Catie is fine. But I love the name Callie, but I don't see it as a first name. Caitlin has C's and L's, so I think Callie would work as a nickname. What do you think?
5 AnswersBaby Names9 years agoAnyone gotten pregnant on their period or right after?
I know it's unlikely, and the best time to get pregnant is during ovulation. I'm just curious how many of you have gotten pregnant much sooner.

22 AnswersBaby Names9 years agoWhen in your cycle did you get conceive?
Just curious, for those of you who know the exact day you conceived, how many days intfrom your period was it? Example: If you had your period on the 1st and conceived on the 10th, it was 10 days into your cycle. If you could provide the length of your cycle, that would be helpful too. Thanks!
1 AnswerTrying to Conceive9 years agoHow many times did you change your mind about your child's name?
I've changed my favorite girl's name many times. From Mariah to Allison to Whitney to Jillian to Savannah (with several names in between) and currently have settled on Caitlin.
However, my boy's name has constantly been William for years.
So just curious, how many times did you change your mind when you were naming your child? What were your choices and what name did you eventually pick? If you don't have children, what have your favorite names been and which is your favorite now?
5 AnswersBaby Names10 years agoDoes this sound like an abnormal UTI?
I developed a UTI on Sunday. Sunday night I started Bactrin DS and Pyridium. The Pyridium helped to take away the pain and spasms in between trips to the bathroom, but I still get spasms when I finish my stream each time.
It's Tuesday now and I don't feel like I"m getting any better. This morning the urge to go seems stronger than yesterday. I've only had one UTI in the past (which resolved very quickly after starting medications) so I don't know if this is normal for a UTI or not.
Should I still be having symptoms two days after starting treatment?
2 AnswersWomen's Health10 years agoGood complete club set for a beginner?

13 AnswersBaby Names10 years agoJuliet, Julia, Juliana or Jillian?
I'm trying to narrow down my favorite girl's name. Middle name will be Anita or Elise. (My grandmother's name is Anita Elise and I want part of her name for my daughter, so middle names are pretty set.)
What's your favorite? If you know any variations of the above, please share!
12 AnswersBaby Names10 years agoFirst names for the middle name Anita?
My grandmother's name is Anita and she is so special to me. When my husband and I have our daughter, I want the middle name to be Anita, after my grandmother. The problem is I'm having some trouble finding first names that flow well.
Any suggestions? We prefer more traditional names than kreatyve ones. :-)

13 AnswersPregnancy10 years agoIs there a place to report my landlord?
About three months ago we moved out of an apartment and into a different state. The landlord did not show up for an inspection before we left, even though he had several weeks to do this. He sent me a message a couple of weeks later that said the apartment "looked fine" and asked for the address to send the security deposit.
About a month later we received a letter from him listing a bunch of different charges he had made. Some of them included : Painting the kitchen due to damages (he did not specifiy what damages and there were no damages when we moved). It was a tiny kitchen and he also charged nearly 80 dollars for paint!! Cleaning fees, even though it was cleaned before we lefts and damages supposedly caused by our dogs. We ended up receiving less than a third of our deposit back.
I'll also mention that the landlord lived in this apartment before we moved in. He had dogs who chewed the baseboards and scratched the walls and doors. He did not paint or clean the apartment before we moved in.
We had many issues with him while we lived there. The water smelled like sulfur and, though he said several times he was going to fix it, he never did over the year we were there. The major ones: During the winter, our driveway was never plowed unless we called him first. There were multiple times that I could not get in the driveway after work because the snow was several feet high at the entrance. He was also trying to sell the building and more than a dozen times we had people arrive for showings without any notice, and some even entered the apartment without our permission when we were gone.
We called him several times and finally sent a certified letter asking for the return of the deposit and explaining why he could not charge up for these things. (Laws in our state do not allow landlords to charge for routine painting and upkeep as well as general wear and tear.) However, he has not responded to any message or letter.
Since we are so far away, taking him to small claims court isn't feasible, since we would have to file and present the case in our former state. But I don't want future tenants to have the same issues. I'm wondering if there is a website or state bureau that I can file a report with, so that others who research him are aware of his unprofessionalism.
8 AnswersRenting & Real Estate10 years agoWhat do you think of the name Emarie/Emmarie?
My middle name is Marie and I would like to include a part of my name in my daughter's name.
I like the name Emery, but it's too popular, IMO. I thought Emarie would be a great compromise.
The middle name would be Elise, after my grandmother, and last name starts with S.
What do you think of the name?
Would you spell it Emarie or Emmarie?
4 AnswersBaby Names10 years agoWhat is wrong with my dog's foot?
http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e294/ashDola12/a...
My dog is limping on her back leg. It looks like she might have stepped on something or cut her pad. It's been bleeding a little bit. We are going to the vet tomorrow if it's not better, (it's Sunday) but what can I do for it in the meantime?
1 AnswerDogs10 years agoTraining a puppy who takes other dog's toys?
Amber is my 7 month old lab/boxer female who LOVES to play. She is definately the dominent dog over our older (1 year) male lab and whenever he picks up a toy or a stick, she always takes it from him. If he doesn't give it willingly, she will bite at his feet or neck until he does.
Last night we took her to a lake where there were several dogs swimming. Amber would swim out to get her ball, but when she saw another dog, she would drop her ball in the water and swim over to the other dog to take their ball. She just won't leave the other toys alone.
She's not dominant around people- she doesn't even beg for food. But when another dog has a toy, she won't leave him alone until she gets it.
How can we train her to correct this behavior? Thanks for your help.
4 AnswersDogs10 years agoPregnant? What do you think?
My husband and I have been using the pull-out method (not that effective, I know) but we would be okay if we get pregnant. This month, I've been feeling like I'm pregnant.
My period is due tomorrow and if I don't start I am going to test Monday.
Here are my symptoms: Let me know what you think and if you had anything similar
1. Waves of nausea at random times.
2. Headaches on and off each day (I've been drinking a lot of water) for about two weeks
3. Strange cramps/shooting pains in my lower abdomen, especially in the morning for the past week. I never get cramps until the day I start my period.
4. Tired a lot. Definately don't have the energy that I used to.
5. Really dry/chapped lips despite using Aquafor Eucerine lip ointment a lot. For about a week.
My LMP was 5-26-11, I have a 27 day cycle, give or take a day. I should have ovulated around the 4-6. We had sex twice on the 4th, once on the 5th and again on the 11th and 12th.
What do you think?
(Again, I'm going to test on Monday if I don't start my period, but I'm just wondering what your experiences are.)
2 AnswersPregnancy10 years agoImportant Info for those TTC!?
I was surprised when I learned this the other day and I wanted to share it with those TTC:
For those of you who are prediciting ovulation and waiting to have sex when it is close to the time you are ovulating- this may be why you haven't been conceiving!
If your man has not ejaculated in the past three days before you try for a baby, this may cause a build up of dead sperm in the testes. So that means once you do have sex, the semen contains only dead sperm.
For for fresh sperm and best chances of pregnancy, your man needs to ejaculate at least once in the three days before your ovulation. Then when you do have sex during your ovulation, you're ensured that there will be live, wiggly sperm to find your egg.
Good luck and baby dust to you all!
