I was wondering if any one can help. I shoot weddings with this canon 40D and the lens I mostly use is EF 24-70mm f/2.8L or my 50 mm 1.4 when Im in churches etc. But even out doors with plenty of light my L lens still gives me soft edges on my images. I have tried different settings but no luck on consistant results. I think it may be some setting Im missing. I usually have to edit my pictures with post editing software to make my images sharp but that destroys the quality of the picture. How can I consistantly get razor sharp images with this lens without editing the pictuers in post?

I shot these with my canon 50 D but the lens is a cheap one. Im saving to invest in some L glass, the 28-70mm 2.8 to be exact but as you may know it's high on the dollar side. I used my 50mm 1.4 prime for these shots. Im curious to know if that lens will improve clarity a lot better or a little better. I am open to some positive criticisms for you pros out there. Please be gentle. LOL. Thanks
