  • Is it possible to feel bad for the Yankees?

Of the three remaining teams, the Yankees are the longest removed from a championship season (2000). The Angels won it all in 2002 and the Phillies are the defending champions. The Yankees have made it to the post season seven times since and fallen short. This is the stuff of Fox Sports sap stories. They're jinxed! They're a perennial runner-up! What will it take for the Yankees to win their first championship of the 21st century?!! (and before the argument even starts, 2000 is part of the 20th century--do the math.)

Aside from the season-long fans of the Phillies, Angels, and Red Sox, why not root the Yankees?

  • Do you think my "prediction" will come true?

Lackey will pitch 7 strong innings allowing 2-3 runs.

Burnett will pitch 5 shutout innings but will get lit up in the 6th or 7th.

Molina will shut down the Angels running game with at least one caught stealing.

The Yankees will make a late-inning run at coming back but will fall a run short.

Final score: 6-5 Angels, Lackey wins, Burnett loses, Fuente saves

    A-Rod, Abreu, Guerrero homer

  • How many people already have their Phillies Win! question already typed?

  • Send in the clowns...where are the fans?

The Cardinals are second only to the Yankees in World Championships. They clinched their division a day earlier than New York. Where are all the Cards fans trash-talking the Cubs and the Brewers and promising the Dodgers and the Phillies that they've already won the World Series.

The Twins have a legitimate chance of winning the AL Central. Where are their fans? Why hasn't a single Tigers fan stepped up to defend their team?

Why is it that the only thing I read about in here is the Yankees and the Red Sox? I like the Sox, but there are six other teams going to the post season and another three or four still in contention. Where's the rest of the league?!!
