  • J1 initial entry?

    Hello,

    I am a Chinese citizen with a J1 to travel to the U.S. For my initial entry using the J1, must I enter from the China? I have Canadian tourist visa, and would like to visit Canada first before entering the U.S. using J1. Is that possible, or must I go back to China first?

  • How can I switch between J1 and B2 visas?

    I am a citizen of China. I have both J1 and B2 visa. The J1 starts in September for 6 months. Can I travel to the U.S. using B2 in June, and then convert my stay to J1 without going back to China (I can go to Canada if needed)?

    Also, when the J1 expires, can I go to Canada and re-enter using B2? Or must I go back to China?
