I just watched "Devil's Miner" and now feel inspired to help the children who have to work in the dangerous Cerro Rico Mountains. Here's the problem:

Find the equation of the line(s) tangent to the curve y=x^2+5x-2 that goes through the point (2,8). (*The given point is not on the curve.)

I'm not sure how to do this one...I've done problems where the point IS on the curve, but this one is different. Help!?

I'm making a dessert for my family this weekend, and am on the hunt for some good recipes! The problem is that there are only four of us, so anything like big cakes or trifles often goes to waste because we can't eat all of it before it goes bad. Are there any recipes that make a smaller number of servings, or that are easy to make for individual people (ie. parfaits)?

Weird question, and I know you do already lose weight while you're sleeping, but I was wondering if there was something else you could do to "boost" that. Is there anything you can wear (like a band around your waist), or sleeping positions you can use to make you lose more weight?

I'm 17 years old and in the last couple years I've noticed that I eat past my "point of fullness" more often than I did when I was younger. My BMI is still on the lower end of what is considered "normal", but I often feel guilty for overeating and I don't like it. Why am I like this?

How do you find the derivative of 800,000sqrt(4+(6-x)^2)? I got 800,000(1/2(4+(6-x)^2))(-1), but I think there's more to it than that...
