What do you think will eventually happen to Julian Assange?
Do you think he will somehow get on a plane to Ecuador? Will he be arrested and extradited to Sweden to face the trumped up sex charges? Will he then be extradited to the US and face further charges for leaking diplomatic cables? What do you think the future holds for Julian, who is still currently holed up in the Ecuadorian embassy in London.

1 AnswerSoftware1 decade agoAcer Aspire 5332 blank crystal eye webcam problem, any ideas on how to solve it?
I have an acer aspire 5332 laptop which has an inbuilt Crystal Eye webcam. When I first got the laptop the webcam worked fine, but about 3 months ago it started displaying a blank black box instead of the camera image. I didn't do anything to change it as I seldom use the webcam anyway, I just need it for vlogging.
If I try to connect the webcam to any other software such as MSN, that software will tell me 'no camera found; or something simlar.
I have tried to locate a driver for the camera to see if re installing the driver would fix this issue, but I am unable to find my laptop's model on the Acer site (most others are listed, but not mine, Aspire 5332). My laptop is only about 9 months old, and is working perfectly. There's no stability issues or anything, the only issue is with the webcam, It's not serious but it's down right irritating!!
Here's a screenshot of the issue: http://tinypic.com/r/w0t6di/7
If anyone can help I'd be really happy! :)
I hate it when something techy beats me!! lol.
Please no dumb one line answers like 'delete system32' or 'reformat your computer', please only answer if you actualy have a useful idea.
4 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks1 decade agoneed a simple but different eye & makeup style for wedding?
I'm getting married on Friday. I'm a bit of a grunge/rock person and I'm wearing a black outfit. I have been struggling forever to find a simple makeup style to go with this. Most of the 'alternative' styles involve burying your face in thick black & white makeup. I don't want that, I want to use black or purple eyeshadow and a lip colour to go with it.
I've wasted so much money on makeup (not really wasted because I can use it at other times), but I'm getting very fustrated now!
Please give me some tips, even better show me some pics, you never know, your idea may well land up on my face on the big day!!!!
2 AnswersMakeup1 decade agoEasy ways to make dreadlocks.?
What is the easiest way of forming dreadlocks in your hair? I really don't want to pay £190 at the salon, for dreads that don't even look good in the pics. I don't have any friends (sadly) who could help me, so I need a method which I can do alone.
Also advice on what maintenance products are good would be appreciated.
I understand the process is quite long, and I have plenty of time & patience, but I need some tips on getting good looking dreads.
4 AnswersHair1 decade agoDoes switching the power off while a PC is logging off break it?
This seems to be a bit of an urban myth among the tech forums etc, that if you were to cut the power to a PC at the mains while it is logging off, as in logging off to shutdown/reboot and says logging off..... on the screen, then when you turn it back on again it won't boot.
I just wondered if there was any truth in this.
2 AnswersDesktops1 decade agoWhat do YOU think should happen to malware authors?
How do you think people who write and distribute viruses, spyware and other dangerous & unwanted computer programs via the internet should be punished?
Should they be disconnected from the internet by their ISP and put on a blacklist so they're not able to connect again?
Should they be banned from owning any device connected to the internet?
Should more public money be spent on policing malware and catching those responsable for it?
Should they be jailed for longer?
Should they receive larger, more damaging fines of say £10000+ per upload and machine damaged?
What do you feel would be an appropriate punishment for those who insist on damaging intellectual property, entering computer systems without permission and stealing personal Information?
I don't see any difference between breaking & entering someone's house & taking cash or personal items, and breaking into someone's computer & doing the same. It's fraud, theft & criminal damage all rolled into one.
Are we doing enough to stop malware spreading online?
I don't think so. Companies like Facebook & Myspace should also be held to account too if malware is spreading via their servers.
8 AnswersSecurity1 decade agoIs there a web based Windows PC simulator? Like a flash or jave applet thing that you can use in the browser?
Is there anything online where you can use a virtual simulation of a windows based PC? I know there is virtual PC, but I don't really want to install that as I don't know what I'm doing enough.
I just wondered if there was something simlar online, that works from a flash or java applet in your browser?
I've looked around on google but I've not found anything so far.
Thanks,
Cheryl.

I'm thinking about keeping a tortoise but I need to know if I would need any special legal papers in order to keep one.

3 AnswersReptiles1 decade agoShould Microsoft, the police and governments be doing more to catch the conficker author?
This particularly irritating piece of malware has been in the news a lot of late. Microsoft have a $250, 000 bounty on the head of whoever wrote & activated it, but are the authorities really doing enough to locate the 'HQ' of conficker and actually make arrests related to it?
If they are in a 'lawless' country then I'm sure Western forces could still act under anti terror laws, we seem to be able to do plenty of other things under that guise.
We the computer nerds know all about the worm & what it does, but what we don't know is where it's base is, who's controling this cyberthreat?
What else could we do to track them down?
Fire away.
5 AnswersSecurity1 decade agoTomorrow's 'Patch Tuesday' actual release time?
I know tomorrow is Microsoft's Patch Tuesday, when they put out the latest security bulletins, but when is this actualy in GMT? As I want to have my system update it's self pretty much as soon as these important patches go live. It's bad enough they make us wait 4 weeks with vaunrable machines, so I would like to get them done asap.
I've tried to work it out, I think they're live at around 10am PDT/PST, if anyone could work that out to GMT for me I'd be very grateful!
2 AnswersSecurity1 decade agoNHL 09 for the Xbox 360 disc read error?
My boyfriend had the red ring of death on his xbox 360, so we bought a new xbox 360 instead of waiting months for it to be fixed. He plays the EA Sports game NHL 09 and he bought a copy of this game back in october when it came out. Anyway it played fine on his old xbox but when we got the new one, the error appeared. It says it's unable to read the disc and to clean it. So we tried this to no avail. It plays up until a certain point in the game and then the error comes up. So we exchanged the game at the shop (still had the receipt and shop were willing), thinking the new console might be very sensitive and be picking up a tiny blip on the disc. The new game does EXACTLY the same thing! I have read that EA have recognised it but given players NO advice about it apart from to clear the cache, which everyone says does not work.
Can anyone suggest anything or at least post if they are having the problem, as I intend to inform the shop, who have NO idea they are selling a defective product.
Thanks.
Cheryl.
3 AnswersXbox1 decade agoWhere can I buy real corned beef, preferably in the Mansfield Notts area?
When I say real corned beef, I don't mean the tinned stuff, I mean the actual slices, http://www.crypticnightgraphics.com/butcher/corned... like that.
If anyone knows I'd be really grateful.
6 AnswersOther - Food & Drink1 decade ago120gb ipod and windows xp service pack 2, will this be a problem?
I'm having a 120bg ipod for Christmas and on the pack it says it's suitable for use with XP, as I know from having an ipod for 2 years prior to this. However it says XP home or professional (sp3) on the box. Service Pack 3 has many problems and I am not in a position where I can fork out money to repair a constantly rebooting computer. I want to know if I will still be able to use the ipod on my itunes with sp2.
2 AnswersMusic & Music Players1 decade agoHas anyone here (in the UK) had a hysterectomy for extreme PMS/PMDD symptoms?
Sensible answers only please.
I'm a 22 year old woman who has Asperger Syndrome, which is a form of Autism. I am perfectly of sound mind and I know I would never be able to go through a pregnancy or raise a child due to having AS, even though I do know some with it have. So before you tell me I'm too young, I know the implecations of such a procedure and what it means not to have those organs inside me.
I have a really bad cycle, with the premenstrual bit causing me many painful mental and physical symptoms. I tried going on the pill about 3 years ago but I had awful side effects and my cycle has never been the same since.
I have odd reactions to medications and after a lot of trial and error I don't want to put myself or my body through any more experiments.
All I want to know is if any young women here have had the operation on the grounds of PMDD/PMS symptoms and how they went about getting it on the NHS. How do you convince a doctor that you have this condition when so little is known about it?
Doctors knowledge of Asperger Syndrome seems to be extremly limited too, so I'm dealing with 2 very complex things with people who don't know much about them.
Can anyone give me any starting points?

How much do you think the NHS has to spend per week on hospital admissions for people who's illness gets worse due to not being able to afford their prescription?
Just a thought.
4 AnswersOther - Health & Beauty1 decade agoChinese BBQ Chicken wings ?
The Chinese take away at the end of our street sells Chicken wings in a really super nice BBQ sauce, the problem is I can't find the sauce anywhere so I can experiment with it on other meats. It's red, thick and sweet with a distinct BBQ taste. Almost like a cross between a chinese style and regular BBQ sauce. I've tried almost every supermarket one to no avail.
I'm in the UK.
Any ideas?
3 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoBBC TV Licence, is it time the BBC looked to other sources of funding?
What do you think would be a good way to fund the BBC besides the TV Licence, which in the last few years has become subject to a lot of criticism. It has appeared to "criminalise" the act of watching television and even goes as far as harrassing those who choose not to have a TV at all.
The BBC could be funded via:
Advertising
Subscriptions on a pay as you watch basis
Subscriptions on a monthly/annual basis
Maybe in this case nobody would subscribe due to the poor quality of programs?
10 AnswersOther - Television1 decade agoMSN messenger won't sign in?
Anyone else having trouble signing into MSN these last couple of days? I removed it and reinstalled it but still get the same thing, something about being unable to sign in because the service is temporarily unavalable. I take it it's a MSN server issue rather than the actual program.
7 AnswersMSN1 decade agoWorrying about the large hadron collider is driving me mad?
There is so much contradiction, speculation and utter nonsence going around about this, it's hard to pin down any factual scientific facts. Is it going to produce a Microscopic Black Hole that could go into the Earth and eat it from the inside? Or strange matter that'll turn everything into soup? The even more far fetched ideas are that we'll get teleported into an alternate dimension where Earth is run by Nazis etc etc. Any REAL scientists here prepaired to give any facts?
Also I'm 100% sure that MANY experiments such as the LHC have gone on many times before in secret, carried out by various government and millitary experiments. This one could just be to test general public reaction to it before technologies developed from it are introduced to our lives.
Anyone clear this up because it's driving me mad.
