  • XP without explorer.exe?

    I have a very specific need where I have about 8 machines running only 1 application and I do not want the users to play around on the box.

    Would it be safe for me to disable explorer.exe on boot or is it required for more than just the windows shell and interface.

    My goal is to have a PC that auto boots into the desired program without having background stuff going on other than network and audio interfacing.
