  • What to do if I just found out my salary has been wrong?

I've been at my current employer for three years and I have just noticed that my salary has been wrong from day one. I know that I should have noticed this from the start but I just saw it. My employer does not typically offer an employment contract or any offer documents(very small company) so neither me nor my company have the original agreed upon amount written for proof either way. So my manager said I should decide what I want to have done and he will discuss it with me and propose a solution to the higher ups. If I had documentation this would amount to about a $5000 increase in pay for each year as well as the increased 401K contributions and matches and so forth. If we had proof I'd ask to split the difference and give me a lump sum of $7500 and just increase me to the proper level going forward and be done with it. Since we don't have proof either way I'm thinking I should just ask to be moved up to what I should be at going forward with no back pay or anything? What does everyone think about that or any other suggestion? Thanks

  • my dog eats when she is hungry, how could I get another dog?

My dog only eats when she is hungry, so I keep her daily amount of food out for her to have access all day. I know you should get your dog to eat when you put the bowl down, and even though I tried this thinking she will get hungry enough to eat when I put it down she never did. She didn't eat for 3 or 4 days as a puppy so I started leaving it out for her to get as she wants. Some days she eats all her food while in her cage during the day, sometimes she only eats at night, and some days she doesn't eat anything. How would it be possible for me to get another dog and get it to not eat her food since it sits out, or how could I get my dog to eat when I put her food down not just when she wants? She is also quite passive as I taught her to not be possessive over food or toys, so she wouldn't protect her food and set the limits. Anyone else have this same issue and how did you overcome it? I would really like a second dog, but my current dog, of course, comes first.

  • Anyone know of a list of leveraged mutual funds?

I'm having a hard time finding a list of leveraged, both long and short mutual funds. I know I can go to families like Rydex or Direxion for their mutual funds, but I don't want to miss some of the one offs from other families I may not think of. Anyone know of a good site that can screen for that or anything? I've already tried Fidelity, Scottrade, Morningstar, yahoo finance, and google finance as well as just googling and I get nothing. Thanks everyone

  • Where to park near L'Enfant Plaza?

Hey everyone, staying at the Holiday Inn 550 C St. SW Washington, DC for Saturday night leaving Sunday. Where can I park that won't cost $35 a day? I know street parking and stuff like that is supposed to be free on the weekends, and I really just want to dump my car Saturday morning and come back to it Sunday morning and get out of town. And yes I have to drive, as I'm not too far away and flying isn't reasonable, and from Knoxville, TN there isn't another way of getting to DC. So would it be best to just park at the hotel for convenience, or are there spots near by that I can park on the street safely for free or nearby parking facilities that are cheaper? I just don't want to be in there a few minutes longer than 24 hours and get popped for another $35

  • I have a series 4 and 24, why would I need a 9/10?

I had an interview last week with a brokerage firm for a branch position. One of the managers saw I have a series 4 and 24, and said thats nice, we don't need that; we need someone with a 9/10. I know the 9/10 has a municipal bond component to it, but really isn't a 4/24 better than the 9/10? And wouldn't a series 9/10 manager have to be ultimately supervised by a series 4/24? So why would they rather me have a 9/10, unless he just didn't understand the difference?

  • What to do in NYC after dark?

My wife and I will be visiting NYC in August for a few days. We've got all the touristy things planned as this will be her first trip. However, I've been wondering what to do in the evenings? We don't drink so would prefer to not go to a bar or a club but would be up for most anything else. I don't want to get back to the hotel after dinner and just sit around, we would really like to experience NYC and some of the cools things at night as well. We are both 25 so we can walk and do whatever, thanks for your help!
