it's an old b/w film - a boy ends up on a fishing boat (against his wishes i think), he refuses to work so he's not allowed to eat until he does, the lovable hard fisherman he ends up loving, in a storm ends up floating in the water and says to someone he's cut of at the waist which is why he refuses against the pleading of the boy to get back in the boat - the boy could have been the young actor that played the classic David Copperfield - help please

did some quality blubbing and still don't know why it made me so emmotional - just know i loved that film
