  • i need babysitting advice!!!?

So i babysit a little girl and boy, the boy is older and low maintenance so my main job is the little girl (keeping her entertained etc).

My problem is, I feel like I have no parental authority over them so I end up becoming this girl's slave! I play whatever game she wants including face painting which is bad for my skin but anyway...

Its not like I'm a bad babysitter because she loves me to bits, hence why her mum always asks me to babysit!

At the same time though I feel like she thinks she can get away with almost anything and of course I don't let her... Instead I use a distract method- if she wants to do something I don't want to or she isn't allowed to do I distract her with something else.

If it was my own brother I am babysitting I don't feel bad about taking control and doing what i want to do but with the little girl I just want to sit her in front of a film instead of messing up the house with arts and crafts... She is exhausting!

Its easier if I get a shift when they are going to bed so I have time to clean up before their parents get home but now i get day shifts and I don't have that luxury!

Am I being selfish? Should I let her choose whatever game she wants to or should I plan what we are going to do?

Because if I plan something I know it will only last 10 minutes before she comes up with the bright idea of hamma beads or something messier which will last until she has made a mess and she wants to do something else .
