I recently sold my 20" Staggered Beyern Multi wheels from my e38 740 but now I have a e39 540it (wagon). I don't know the offset of the wheels I had and I'm buying back the wheels I sold, but the guy has a separate garage where he has them in storage and doesn't know the offsets.

The fronts were 8" wide and the rear 10" wide. I'm wondering that I may have to roll the fenders for the rears maybe even use hubcentric spacers and roll the fenders to squeeze them in.

Anyone have experience with this car and wheel combo? Rubbing issues?

I can't seems to find any information via BMW forums, google, tirerack.com or any wheel sites.

Chances they will fit look grim to me

Maybe someone has done it with slight mods?

My merc has a new starter and I tried a 2 different batteries along with a heavy duty charger to boost the cranking. The car started for 1 min and shut off. It seems like this car is draining excessive amps/ volts. Would there be some resister that could be blown and draing my batteries?

i have a few extra lifters for my Mercedes with a M104 3.2 that i pulled from the junk yard. according to my mechanic my lifters in the car are still bad. is there any way of knowing which one are good by squeezing them before i install the junk yard ones? my mechanic showed me which ones he thinks are bad on the vehicle.

I have a totaled E38 740il with a half a tank, the gas is fairly new. i tried sticking my syphon pipe into the gas hole but the pipe was stuck on some angle in the tanks tubing so i couldnt hit the bottom of the tank.

i was thinking attacking it from where the fuel pump connects to the tank. I havent been under the car yet so i dont know exactly where the pump is and what shields i have to remove.

anyone have experience with this or have any suggestions?

im thinking of a project, just bought my buddies smashed 2001 740il and was thinking instead of parting the car, swap the diff, engine, trans and brakes to a 98 318ti with a dead motor.

im sure theres some modifying but how much? is it like doing an m3 diff swap where you need to cut some bracket out of the way?

also the widths of the differentials and axels. also a concern of mine is the drive shaft, would i need a custom one or can i use sometype of bmw shaft?

the cars arent with me for a few more days so i cant do any measurements but does anyone have any input on this?

any info on a 740 to 318ti swap? i hear a german company Hartage packed a V12 from a 750il into a 318ti.

On a 2001 BMW 740il i heard the frame was made of aluminum. what parts are steel and what is aluminum? i dont have the car infront of me.

I was thinking about doing a swap, but of course have some fitment concerns. Im assuming i would need custom motor mounts and tranny mounts.

suspension concerns because its a heavy motor and transmission.

i was also thinking swap the brakes and calipers. if they dont fit maybe swap the hubs for the proper mounts for the calipers?

Maybe even the differential because i know i will fry the 318ti differential, but i dont think that would be a easy fitment.

also what driveshaft do i use since the length of the motor and auto trans is almost as long as the e36 318ti? Ha, would i even need one?

If this would fit i would have something to take to the drag strip and make people scratch their head in confusion on why this little car is so fast. this was my buddies car so i know it ran great and we smoked alot of fast cars so i know its fast!

the 318ti is probably half the weight of the 7 series.

The Fuse is good and checked with another fuse just in case.

I dismantled the wiper motor and connected it directly to a battery and it works

My wiper control module behind the glove box is good, I checked with 3 different modules laying around.

now im thinking theres something with the wires behind the dash.

does anyone have a similar problem?

is there a specific spot i should be checking for wires that have a tendency to fray?

did i miss something? maybe theres another relay/ control module?

my wiper module has a big blue plug, i think there different modules in some years.

I'm looking at a car. someone is selling it from an estate sale. the car has No title. I need to know how to get a title in either NJ or PA.

I dont know if a bill of sale is enough to go to a DMV in NJ with or a tags place in PA.

Are there any Common Motor issues that would need the motor replaced or rebuilt?

i dont know to much about these cars other than something about a Fuel line issue- Recall.

Im 21 year old male and I personally i have a tiny soft spot, i mean microscopic for "breaks", but generally i feel that if my significant other wants to take a break, she is welcome, but i dont like the idea. Breaks lead to break ups in the end anyway. I think the word "break" can also be used to slowly depart to make an easy and painless break up, even if thats not what they are thinking of doing at the moment.

generally i do not believe in breaks, you are with that person 100% all the way even if there is a rough patch OR your not with them at all.

Its kinda like saying your a little pregnant. your pregnant or your not dammit!( thank god that this isnt the case lol)

Im a car guy and baby my cars like any other guy i also fix and repair my cars myself. so,here it goes my GF and I have been together for 10.5 month and my GF's mom isnt to fond of me from the get go.so one night my GF's mom backed into my car accidently because she was in a rush. she didnt bother calling, texting, emailing or even telling me when she got back!!! when i found out it was her, my gf got involved and said she will do the talking, i said no, i will talk to her....she did it anyway and asked if she hit my car. it went down hill from there... her mom didnt even come to me to tell me herself. about 30min later her mom comes down stair to tell my GF something and doesnt say anything. i had to confront her when she was about to walk away " about my car". then she all of he sudden says shes sorry and said to fix it, show her receipts and she will pay me back. i was in shock she said something like that. she walked way. i went to talk to her, i say i want a police report and insurance involve( in a professional manner of course)... she says she has no time to do that right now and said "when i get back( she was going on a trip for a week the next morning) we will take care of it". and i kept pressing this to do it that night. she kept tying to cut me off as i was speaking...i also gave her an estimate on what my momst mercedes costed to fit ( same damage), but i didnt let her. i finished and she said "i think we should stop talking about this, we will take care of this when i get back"... that night i was getting advice on what to do from MY mom because this is a tough situation, if it were a stranger it would have been standard cut and dry procedure o call the police to get a report and get insurance involved. as i said my gf got involved, so im on the phone with My mom and my Gf starts talking that its not a big deal blah blah blah, and i gave her my explanation on y it should be dont immediatly and she mom didnt have the slightest concern for me or my property and she said somethings that night that she shouldnt have like " your being you and i hate it" and acted like a 5 year old. the next day(today) we got in another fight because i asked her why isnt your mom talking to me, why is she telling you to tell me what she is going to do or take care of my car. i said i dont want a middle man and i want to talk to " your mom" because she hit my car with her car. i should be hearing what ever she says from My GF's moms mouth and its fine if my gf passes new on... the point is i dont feel like im being respected at all by her mom and i dont trust ppl that dont think highly of me. . i called her mom twice the night before to talk about the conversation me and her had about 30 min before. she didnt pick u nor did she call back.... anyway, today after the argument my gf said she wants a break( we all know what that really means). i seriously feel like im being jerked around and being taken advantage of. her mom left me a measly $500 check today for me to get started, but im going be real and i think that thats all im going to see for repair money ( it would probably be around $2500.00 in repairs). now in a sense my GF left me with a broke *** car and now i have even less security that my car is going to be squared away. we will probably get over the break thing, but I myself is getting second thought about my GF from this, what she said and other things. i called her mom and told her how its going to be in a professional manner and i havent heard from her since. her mom also said to get an estimate from a body shop( i will do it) for myself and for her. im thinking if i dont hear from her mom at this point i should do what should have been done in the first place and make a report. im in school and dont have time to pay with my car right now, but i need my car, so i cannot have it in the body shop so im forced to fix it myself. my question is...should i treat this like any other accident? its been a drag lately so should i dump my GF anyway( she said "break", at this point im thinking just kill it and get on with my life, it not just about my car, its about civil respect from both her mom and and the gf or what ever you wanna call it) ?.....ANY ADVICE??? I know im beat with the relationship that ive been working for with my gf and her mom(she just started to trust and like me, and it means alot to me and now all its lost)
