Aubrey doesn't "mean 'Elfin King'", it used to mean "Elfin King" when it was originally created. It's a name of English origin, and as a native speaker of modern English, I can tell you that Aubrey no longer translates to mean "Elfin King." Aubrey was ranked #44 in 2010 for baby girls in the US, which means Americans consider it to be more appropriate for daughters than for sons despite its original intended meaning. You can like or hate it, but it is what it is. The name is considered feminine in American society. And it's completely normal (and predictable) that a language go through changes over years. Again, there's really no stopping it, and no use pouting about it. ♥ http://www.formspring.me/millerthriller Linguistics enthusiast. Graduate student. Home owner. Food lover. Dancer.
